In a second bit of casting news today, you’re looking at a teeny tiny picture of the guy who is supposed to be playing Batman in the upcoming Justice League film. His name is Armie Hammer, and no, I did not make that up. His birth name is Armand Hammer, but if you Google that name you’ll just come up with an industrialist who was born in 1898. 
BTW, believe it or not the little image above is about the only one I could find of the guy anywhere.
Hammer, (I can’t bring myself to refer to him as “Armie”) does not exactly have a ton of acting experience behind him. He’s appeared in the movie Flicka and in episodes of Desperate Housewives, Veronica Mars and Arrested Development, three TV shows I’ve never seen.
Little experience does not mean he can’t act, it just means he hasn’t had much opportunity. On the plus side, he’s got the build for the role: He’s supposedly 6′ 5″ tall.
Not much else to say about this one…

Hoping for a Brandon Routh type of scenerio.
As much as I like the guys at IESB, their word means dick regarding JLA at this point. They’ve reported multiple items that have turned out to be bullshit (i.e. Tom Welling as Superman, various times they’ve claimed WB was “just about the annouce the cast” and nothing happened, etc.)
Hell, WB has yet to comment on Hollywood Reporter’s article from 2 weeks back (i.e. no shooting script ready and options on the actors are about to expire!) They’ve had all this time to confirm, deny or just say, “No comment” and they haven’t.
So until I see an official annoucement from WB, I don’t believe anything regarding JLA at this point. Hell, I don’t think it’s even going to happen for Summer 2009 at this point…
I think they’ve been right far more often than wrong, but yeah, when it comes to Justice League they’ve been off their game. Their reports on the redesigned Enterprise in Abrams’ Star Trek movie have also been conflicting.

Hmmmm. I think he might be good,he’s just a little young,IMO. Who knows? He might be Batman’s Chris Reeve. And 6′5′? Whoa! He’s actually taller than the actual character Batman,who is 6′ 2′. I wonder how tall the Superman actor is……
Anything coming outta their mouths regarding JLA specifically is what means dick at this point. I have no reason to doubt their info on other films (as of now!)
I really hope their wrong on this. He’s called BatMAN, not Batboy. What’s gone wrong with George Miller?
I only have a certain amount of time for movie news, so I only visit this site, which helps, cuz im not getting dumb rumors from forums or other sites. I just trust Vic to tell me what’s worth hearing about, and what will make me giddy like a school girl. Especially about stuff like this where there are 8 million rumors floating around. but I think this guy looks excellent for the younger vibe they are making for the justice league movie.
