I watched DARK CITY a few months before I saw THE MATRIX (late 1998, then spring 1999) and thought, wow, a few similarities. Heck, even some of the stunts in BLADE were like MATRIX, but it came out 8-9 months before MATRIX. No, I’m not saying anything, except I think stunts in the late 1990s, and storylines, were a bit similar. I think a lot of it had to do with the year 2000 coming up.

I think this has HUGE potential. I can only keep hoping that Proyas will actually pull it off. I know he can but will he actually do it?

Well a dark film like this is right up his alley. I think his weakest film was his “brightest” - I, Robot.

Completely agree. But I read something the other day, and unfortunately I don’t know where, that the someone had to step in to put a stop to Will Smith who wanted a very different version of the film than the director. Could be that the final product was a midway and had Proyas done it his way all the way, I think it could have been much better.

Oh, I still liked “I, Robot”, just not nearly as much as Proya’s other films.

This could be awesome. I’m a big Drac fan and a prequel of this sort intrigues me. However, if made, I don’t think it would do spectacular box office.

Liam Neison for an Older Dracula, or have Gerald Butler or Christian Bale for a younger one
