Billy Eichner once again invaded Jimmy Kimmel Live!, appearing as Marvel's Prince Namor and decrying the fact that Aquaman got to appear in theaters before him. Aquaman is, of course, out now and currently drowning competition at the global box office. As of yesterday, the latest DCEU installment is Warner Bros.' highest grossing movie in China. It also previously surpassed Wonder Woman in pre-sales. Eichner, meanwhile, recently went viral when his voice was dubbed over Captain America's for Civil War's famous airport battle. He's also set to star in Disney's Lion King remake.

Created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the ocean-based superhero Aquaman first debuted in 1941. The character became somewhat of a joke in the decades since, especially regarding his ability to communicate with fish. The casting of Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) in the role, however, afforded the character a new lease of life. After appearing in Justice League, the character proved popular enough, building hype for his standalone movie releasing little more than a year later. Directed by James Wan (The Conjuring), the film, despite mixed reviews, is clearly resonating with fans as the DCEU shifts further into less gritty territory.

Unfortunately, one particular (albeit fictional) person is far from happy. Appearing amongst the audience on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Eichner interrupted Kimmel's monologue dressed as Marvel's Namor. Known also as The Sub-Mariner, this isn't the first time Eichner has appeared on the show as this character. He first invaded the show back in April, furious that he wasn't in Avengers: Infinity War. Comparisons to the Aquaman character were raised in that first appearance but served as the full crux of the second.

In a skit where Kimmel actively riles up Eichner's Namor, the latter appears to now be the embodiment of the ridicule once experienced by Aquaman. Firing back against Kimmel, this version of Namor makes sure to demonstrate the power of his own aquatic weaponry. Rather than the Trident wielded by Momoa in Aquaman, Namor prefers the Horn of Proteus. Lifted right from the comics, the horn allows its user to summon and command aquatic life - demonstrated here by the appearance of Namor's dolphin companion... Gavin. He also makes sure to take a few real-world jabs at Kimmel, unfavorably comparing him to James Corden and John Oliver.

Namor isn't alone when it comes to fictional characters frustrated with the release of Aquaman. Earlier in the week, the people behind Entourage released a video on Twitter, with its characters seemingly annoyed about the casting of Momoa. The lead character of Entourage, Vincent Chase, was, after all, an actor whose big break came in the form of being cast as Aquaman.

Debuting in 1939, Namor was technically the first of the two aquatic heroes. Both characters share not only similar powers but also almost identical backstories. Despite relative popularity, the character has languished in development limbo since the rights were sold to Universal. Although Disney and Marvel have since reacquired many of the characters they sold, the rights to Namor remain complicated. As such, Eichner's hilariously bitter portrayal is most likely the only one fans will experience for the time being.
