Wow. There’s a lot of talk out there about Randal being selfish on a level with Christine from this season’s Survivor (Christine had the opportunity to give the other contestants new cars but instead chose to recieve one for herself instead).
I stumbled upon Randal Pinkett’s website (which didn’t load in Firefox) and found the following brief quote on his home page:
“I should have just said ‘Rebecca can be my Apprentice’ but I was so caught up in the moment that I was overcome with selfishness. I will spend the rest of my career trying to make up for my incredibly poor image. Please forgive me.”
Apparently I barely made it onto the site before word got out, because if you try to visit it as of the time I’m writing this you’ll find that it’s down. I would guess that his server his getting slammed with visits and couldn’t handle the traffic.
FYI, here’s the site: RandalPinkett.com
I’m not going to toss 12 weeks of having seen a good, solid, kind man out the window based on his actions at a highly emotional moment. I think he really regrets what he said in more ways than one. However, I have to say that definitely didn’t fall under “grace under pressure”…

Randall deserved the title and I was glad that he did not concede to there being TWO apprentices….why watch the show if that is the case………..Hello?????????!!!!!!
“Cheap grace” is what Randall is seeking via his comments now on his website. He stood by his refusal to allow Rebecca the opportunity on the Today show interview the following morning and NOW that he realizes the negative backlash it has caused; he is simply trying to do damage control. Too little, too late…his true colors were revealed that night! My advice to Donald Trump is to “watch your back”…”Vanity, thy name is Randal!”
Dorie,
I wasn’t aware of the “Today Show” interview. I’m sorry I missed it.

yups…donald trump is only looking 4 the apprentice..so..why bother about hiring rebecca??duh..besides randal surpasses rebecca in every single ways…
Well Trump DID have TWO job openings and it was obvious from his comments that he was willing to fill both positions.
I re-watched the final few minutes of the show last night and I noticed something that I missed the first time. Even before Randall made the famous quote, a bit earlier on before Trump made his decision Randall made a comment about there being a SINGLE apprentice. It’s almost like somehow he knew that Trump was going to want to hire Rebecca as well.
I just found that interesting…

I agree with the previous post about Randall being a superb candidate. Rebecca can’t hold a candle to him. There is absolutely no need for him to apologize for anything. Trump should have been the one to apologze to Randall. Trump never did that to any other candidate. I thought it was somewhat disrespectful for Trump to put Randall in that awkward position on national TV, when that should have been Randall’s moment to shine. I’m glad Randall stood up and said there can only be one apprentice. Rebecca did not win it fair and square, and thus that would undermine the entire competition.
