Funny super hero movies do not work. As an example, look at how they ruined The Green Hornet. The old 60s tv series was great: right actors, right scripts, right directing, right everything. Then the Seth Rogan travesty….! Even Iron man (which was otherwise pretty good), Spider-Man (ditto) and X-Men (to a lesser extent) really had a bit more humor than was needed. Green Lantern looks great, but there appears to be more humor than is needed from the trailers. It is possible to make a serious superhero movie with out too much humor, I think, and without making it too “dark” (also not good). I want to see an Ant-man movie, and see him (as Goliath) join The Avengers, but if they try to inject humor into it, it will not be good and taint future movies a bit when they try to add him to The Avengers later, if that is in fact what they try to do. I would also say, along with keep Ant-man serious, to concentrate on Hank Pym. I have a hunch this will remain a stand-alone film, not associated with The Avengers franchise, and that if they try to inject major forced humor into it, only the box-office profits and expectations will be shrinking! I also can’t help but wonder if we will see The Wasp )in Avengers, Ant-man. or at all?).

The Ant Man movie is being made to pave the way for the avengers movie. If anyone remembers correctly, the original Avenger’s mansion was the hoe of Henry(Hank) Pym, and his wife Janet Van Dyne, a.k.a. The Wasp. Ant Man could d much more than shrink and talk to ants, he could also grow, sometimes to 60 ft. tall, and his strength grew in proportion. He also created Not only Ultron, but rebuilt Vision a few times. Yeah the old cartoon made him look like a jackass, but what about when The wasp divorces him? He began to get violent and ht Janet. But f course, no one actually read ant man did they?

Ant-man? No offense but how desperate did Marvel get to even print that? WOW.

That said, if the “Fuzz” guys are on board, this is bound to be hilarious and well worth the watch!

Although IMDB lists the character as Pym, I think that’s incorrect.

I read a Q+A with Edgar Wright a while back in a Wizard mag, and he was talking about on how cool of character Ant-Man was, and how he was a total ‘Marvel Head’ when he was kid. Later on he said he would love to take a shot at an Ant-Man movie.Egdar said he would have Hank Pym as the first Ant-man and than Scott Lang as the second one later on in the film. I can’t remember what issue it is though, and I don’t feel going through all the wizard mags now. But yeah, that’s pretty cool, Edgar Wright doing Ant-Man.
