With the MCU preparing for its twentieth film, fans can get their first look at Michael Douglas' return as Dr. Hank Pym for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Peyton Reed's first film wasn't the character origin story many had expected, and instead of focussing on Pym's early days under the Ant-Man mantle, Douglas had a supporting role to Paul Rudd's Scott Lang. However, with Douglas returning alongside Rudd for the sequel, Pym will have a little more to do this time around. Just days after we saw some leaked photos of Ant-Man's new costume, it looks like he isn't the only one who's had an outfit change.

Snapped by Just Jared, Douglas' costume teases a possible storyline for what Pym will be up to in the sequel to the 2015 superhero movie. Strangely sporting an FBI jacket and branded cap, it is right to question what on Earth is going on in the pictures:

Bringing two eras of Ant-Man lore together, Douglas will be playing the original version of the character, while Michelle Pfeiffer has signed on to play the first iteration of the Wasp - Janet van Dyne. As well as Rudd's role as Lang, Evangeline Lilly returns as the latest woman to take on the Wasp mantle, and just so happens to be Hank and Janet's daughter. The synopsis teases that Pym will present the younger heroes with a dangerous new mission, so it is expected that Douglas will be continuing his mentor role for Ant-Man.

Thanks to some nifty CGI trickery, a de-aged Douglas was used in the Ant-Man, but apart from a possible '80s flashback, it seems that the 73-year-old will be embracing his age for a mature version of Pym. What he is up to in the pictures remains to be seen, but the fact he is wearing official FBI clothing could point to one of two options. Will Pym have switched sides to work with the FBI and possibly bring down Lang, or is he undercover to help Scott and Hope? Given that Ant-Man and the Wasp will pick up after Lang's escape from the Raft prison in Captain America: Civil War, Reed has confirmed that Scott will be more of a fugitive now than ever before.

Due for release in July 2018, there is still quite a wait until Ant-Man and the Wasp hits cinemas, but with the set leaks coming thick and fast, expect to find out more as filming continues. With an all-star cast which also includes the likes of Michael Peña, Judy Greer, Walton Goggins, and Laurence Fishburne, Douglas and Rudd are in solid company before the MCU wraps up Phase 3 with Captain Marvel and the untitled Avengers 4.
