Judy Greer, who played the ex-wife of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) in Ant-Man, has signed to reprise her role in the sequel Ant-Man and The Wasp. Ant-Man was a pleasant surprise for audiences in 2015, as it introduced a second-tier Marvel Comics character in first-tier fashion, and steered clear of the trappings of superhero origin movies by framing the action within a heist narrative.

And while the film had four solid core stars in Rudd, Michael Douglas (Dr. Hank Pym), Evangeline Lilly (Janet van Dyne) and Corey Stoll (Darren Cross/Yellowjacket), Ant-Man also boasted a superior supporting cast including Michael Pena, T.I. and David Dastmalchian as Scott's crew; and Greer as Scott's ex-wife, Maggie Lang.

According to Deadline, Greer has just signed to once again play Maggie in Ant-Man and The Wasp. While details of the role weren't revealed, it's pretty safe to say that the character is still a part of Scott's life following the events of Ant-Man, where through her ex's superheroic actions, she finally warmed up to the idea of Scott being more involved in the life of their young daughter, Cassie (Abby Ryder Forston).

With Greer's return, that leaves only Forston, Bobby Cannavale (who played Maggie's new husband, Paxton) and Wood Harris (as Paxton's detective partner, Gale) as the remaining members of the original cast who have not signed up for Ant-Man and The Wasp. The production has seen the addition of several new cast members in the past few weeks, most recently Michelle Pfeiffer as the original Wasp, Janet van Dyne, as well as Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost.

Since the family dynamic was so important in the first Ant-Man, it only seems to make sense that Disney and Marvel at the very least will bring back Forsten and Cannavale. One of the first film's most heartening scenes, in fact, came during the dinner table at Maggie and Paxton's house, when Scott joined the couple and Cassie for dinner before he was called away for an important bit of information regarding Falcon (Anthony Mackie).

While it's yet to be seen whether Greer will play more of a prominent role in the Ant-Man sequel, bringing her back for the second film was a great move by the production. No matter how big the role, Greer generally has delivered in each of her films, which include 13 Going on 30, 27 Dresses, The Descendants and Jurassic World. In addition, she did motion capture as Caesar's wife, Cornelia, in Dawn of The Planet of The Apes and War For the Planet of The Apes, and has long voiced Cheryl Tunt and other characters in the animated hit series Archer.
