Except for The Punisher of course... which I admit I haven't seen. It's just looked bad in the trailer. Guess I'll have to rent it and do a proper review. The way I interpret the use of Avi Arad's phrasing is that it's not enough to just have a good storyline with a likeable superhero. The protagonist has to be a wisecracking ladies' man, and any battle that results in the destruction of less than ten city blocks isn't worth putting in the film. In other words, don't expect anything nearly as sophisticated as X-Men. Could Marvel's string of hits be coming to an end?
