“High adventure” sounds a lot like “high concept,” which is the kind of movies you would expect to see from Jerry Bruckheimer. The way I interpret the use of Avi Arad’s phrasing is that it’s not enough to just have a good storyline with a likeable superhero. The protagonist has to be a wisecracking ladies’ man, and any battle that results in the destruction of less than ten city blocks isn’t worth putting in the film. In other words, don’t expect anything nearly as sophisticated as X-Men.

Could Marvel’s string of hits be coming to an end?

I don’t know, hopefully they won’t let success go to their heads and will keep the spirit of previous films going.

Except for The Punisher of course… which I admit I haven’t seen. It’s just looked bad in the trailer. Guess I’ll have to rent it and do a proper review.
