I actually have a couple of friends who don't like his movies and I'm always like, "wtf?". I enjoy all of his movies and hope he never stops making them. They are always fun.

I also enjoy Tarantino's work. I am just worried about the subject matter. Any video game aficionado will tell you that the WW II genre basically killed itself through volume alone.

Much like gaming, film are designed for entertainment and the influx of WWII based films in recent years is undeniable. Now, WWII is certainly one of the defining moments in human history. It changed the world forever and the ferocity and violence that it bred will hopefully never be seen again. It is touchy subject matter. Let us not forget that many WWII veterans are still around. These are the same vets that left theatres in tears due to the reality of the beach seen in Saving Private Ryan.

My point is this, WWII has been done a thousand times before. Tarantino will really have to make his film stand out in order for it to find the same success as some of his earlier films. Being violent isn't enough. His talent as a film maker has always relied on the characters and the dialog that joins them. I will see this film and I will probably like it. I just hope he raises the bar with this one and creates a new WWII genre altogether.
