American Chopper Senior Vs Junior Season 2 Cadillac Build-off

Check out what’s to come when American Chopper Returns: ‘American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior’ Season 2.5 Premieres August 29

The moment that American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior fans have been waiting for has finally arrived!

On May 30, American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior will begin its two-part Cadillac build-off that will pit Orange County Choppers against Paul Jr. Designs to see who can build the better bike for the same company.

With both Orange County Choppers and Paul Jr. Designs using the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe as inspiration for their bikes, Paul Teutul Jr. calls it an apples to apples build: Paul Jr. Designs to OCC.”

Unfortunately, Paul Teutul Sr. doesn’t see it that way, saying that this wasn’t a build-off, but that “it was just a bike that we both built for Cadillac.”

Of course, you wouldn’t know that from seeing the episode. From the moment that Paul, Sr. and Paul, Jr. quickly passed each other in the halls at the Cadillac headquarters, everyone – including Senior himself – made it sound like this was very much an OCC vs. PJD event. Even Bob Boniface, Director of Exterior Design at Cadillac, said that everyone at the car company is “expecting a pretty good shoot-out,but that “nobody is taking sides.”

American Chopper Build Off

The Inspiration: Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

Besides the highly-anticipated build-off, that both companies are taking extremely seriously, Cadillac upped the ante by making Paul, Sr. and Paul, Jr. unveil their bikes at the same time – in front of each other.

Paul, Sr. explains further:

“They made us meet in the center – bikes face to face – and I had to talk about my bike and then I had to hand him the mic and he talked about his bike. It was very civil.”

Paul, Jr. describes things from his side:

“You know, it was a little awkward, but we took alot of pride in the build and, obviously, I think it upped the ante a little bit for both sides. It was an awesome opportunity and we took full advantage of it, and it was a good unveil.”

Proving that even though they’re currently at odds, they’re still father and son, Paul, Jr. also downplayed any aspect of a build-off, but his comments in the episode say otherwise.

Explaining to me how he sees the event, Paul, Jr. said:

“You know, it was ok – it was fine. I mean, it’s business. We had the same client, Cadillac, [and] they commissioned both of us to build a bike. We were both commissioned to build a bike for Cadillac and [were] given alot of creative freedom; at least we were on this side in the fact that we didn’t have to submit drawings – I think they submitted drawings on their side. So, it made sense in that its business, so we were able to do it.”

Without giving anything away, I will say that both Orange County Choppers and Paul Jr. Designs put a lot of work into both of their bikes. For fans of PJD’s residence tank-builder, Brendon Thompson, you’ll be happy to know that he sticks around the entire build.

Not to leave out OCC, if the episode stays in its current form, fans well be treated to a montage of curse-riddled rants from Mike Amorati that would make Joe Pesci blush at the end of the episode. (the version I saw was partially uncensored, but will obviously change when it airs)

First time since the series’ shift, it’s now safe to say that this is no longer American Chopper: The Series, it’s American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior.

Who do you think is the better bike builder?

  1. 58,im having some problems with screenrant.wanted to give you my email. usmc6520@yahoo.com. hope i get it fixed

  2. The bike that jr. designed for Cadillac was SICK!! The one that Foole designed looked like an old Sportster. Been done a million times! Did any one see the look on Seniors face when jr. sat his bike on the ground? Priceless!! Paul Jr. Design has set the standard for custom bikes!!

    • Yeah, he didnt expect nothing like that. I love it

  3. Paul Sr should be ashamed of himself. I have watched American Chopper for years and Paul Sr is the trouble Maker. Paul Jr is a much better designer than his father. I wish the best of Luck to Paul Jr Designs,

    • One episode that really put Jr. in a bad light is when too bikes fell of the lift and got busted and Jr. was “in charge”. There was also that episode when Jr. took risers from a bike that Sr. made without his permission. Top that with the tardiness and disappearing in the middle of work would make any boss/father made. I am not excusing Sr.’s rants and he should lighten up but Jr. already knows what irks his dad and keeps doing it.

  4. Paul Sr.’s behavior is appauling. As a parent it’s beyond my comprehension how a father relishes in cutting down his own son. He should be ashamed of himself; take some $ and go to parenting class.

  5. I have watched the show for years, and believe it or not I missed the last show! I know not who won but what I saw during the two builds I thought JR’S bike was far better than OCC’s. I think if it werent for Rick OCC would fall flat on their faces. They are the biggest group of suck faces I have ever seen. Go JR, your help is far superior to OCC’s. You made OCC and everyone knows it except your old man. Continued good luck to you. I still watch the reruns on discovery every day.

  6. I admit Jr.’s bikes are more impressive but Sr.’s bikes are more functional. Jr.’s bike fell apart during the video shoot.

  7. Hey everyone involved with OCC and Paul Jr. Designs has value no doubt. But as for Paul Jr. and Mikey’s imperfections, no one said they were perfect. but who is the experienced adult here? Those boys are a product of their up bringing. Watching the show and the interaction of Sr. with Paul and Mike I sense a loss of control by Sr. for not taking control of the situation early on with both boys. If Paul Jr. is going to work in the company business Sr. should have made Jr’s role clear and treat him as an employee that just so happens to be your son. If Paul was coming in late and taking liberties then he should have been held accountable as would any other employee would be. You can’t raise children trying to be their friend all the time, because that “friend” relationship can be threatened when you have to take a hard line. Just because you’re family doesn’t mean you’re immune to the consequences of your actions. As for Mikey, he’s just not taking life seriously, and I think that is Sr’s fault as well. He has never been made to be accountable for his actions which brings about a measure of maturity. But Sr’s obviously isn’t acting mature himself so what do you expect. We have seen Paul Jr’s mature immensely right on the show. His whole attitude and patience in dealing with the situation with his father was impressive. I feel leaving OCC to go out on his own, and getting married was what he needed.

  8. I watched the Cadillac buildoff: In my opinion, I would be suprised that anyone would like that boxy looking bike SR made. Actually, he didn’t build it anyway. That’s the point. SR doesn’t seem to have the talent or skills to do any more than layout basic I-beams for commercial steel prodjects. Let’s all be honest here. Even if SR had built the Cadillac bike all by himself, when JR pulled up with that Killer Scooter he built… Wow! It made SRs bike look like a scooter! And the funny thing is that he really seemed to feel like putting a nitrice bottle under a pop-up seat would make that piece of garbage suddenly awesome. ROFLMAO!!! SR was humiliated and that’s what he deserved for trying to say that JR wasn’t the creative force @ OCC. Joke.

  9. And furthermore, to treat Jason (goof) Poole like he wished he was his son, rather than PJ, all I can say is that I feel sorry for Paul and Mikey.SRs sidekick didn’t want Mikey to embaress the company. Mike’s likeability and sense of humor gave the show ratings and actually drove the OCC branding worldwide. I hate buttkissers like everybody in that shop, sans Jim, Rick and Christian.

  10. At least Paul Jr. designed his bike from begining to end. Sr. had his crew design and build the bike for him. It was supposed to be a build off between father and son not Jr. against all of the occ crew! Sr. had nothing to do with the bike except for taking the credit for it. He should be ashamed of him self! Iwould like to see another build off just between Sr. against Jr. and no one else just to see Sr. make an ass of himself. And by the way if I was Jr. I would have beat the crap out of Sr. for treating him the way he did! Sr. should watch the show just so he can see how much of an ahole he looks and sounds like.

  11. In our opinion Paul Jr’s design won hands down. Paul Sr. needs to go see a counselor and give Paul Jr. and Mike the credit they deserve and stop being such a lousy father.

  12. They are both great builders but I believe what makes PJR a better builder is his creativity. Most anyone that puts their mind to it can train to work with metal and be good. When you are creative it puts you in a whole other league.

  13. I dont see how it was billed as a buildoff between Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. Paul Sr. hardly worked on the bike. His workers did all the work and Paul Sr. put his name on the bile!!!!

  14. Well it looks like Sr did concede to people at his own shop… in some degree. A tweet from Mike Amarati (sp?)

QUOTE: –He pretty much said “I was shocked. He may have made a better bike. Never gave me that effort.”–

    • Rally! I thought this was all over and done with when a blind guy voted for Jr’s bike. I just have to shake my head, Sr’s ego will be the death of him and it’s a shame. “He never gave me that effort”, how stupid, ignorant and self loathing a thing for him to say. Even in defeat he can’t even be realistically truthful and give his son the credit he deserves.
Did he expect Paul to give a half assed effort in creating bike for his own company? Does Sr’s ever think about what he’s going to say before it comes out of his mouth? Even at that Jr’s half assed effort and creative talents made OCC what it is today.

  15. The new bike we are making next will be our best yet.

    • That’s sounds great Paul, I can’t wait to see it.

    • Paul your the man, your bikes are awesome !!!!! and I wish you and your family success that includes your shop family keep up your spirits.

    • paul jr. just want to say your the best by far!We love all your bikes there is knowone that can top your designs that are top shelf!Everyone we know loves your part in the show ya’ll are so much more intertaining than any other bike builders. Keep up the great designs will be looking farward to more of your show best wishes to your famialy!

    • No way you will ever build a bike better than the Cadillac bike, no way….You knocked it out of the park…..Out of everything you have done both at OCC and PJD, dude, it is the badest most well thought out bike you and the PJD team have ever done….I don’t even want to see it if one turns out better than that! It would blind a human eye….I am a cop but I would seriously consider stealing it if given the opportunity so keep it away from AL…..

  16. Paul, Your Cadillac bike is over the top and I have no doubt that your future builds will be just as if not more inspired..

  17. Give it to Vinnie!!!

  18. Props to Paul Jr. How that he’s on his own, his builds will be more creative (As he has all the control) and his life a lot less chaotic.

It really is amazing to watch Sr. in previous episodes. He simply cannot give Pauly ANY credit for ANYTHING! The guy needs intensive counseling.

That being said-it’s the best show on television! (Even better that they’ve gone their separate ways.

  19. I’ve watched all the shows. It’s TV. I don’t know the family, but it looks like Pop has alienated a good portion of his blood. I hope it’s not as bad as it’s portrayed on the tube (I’m sure there’s a little dramatization).
Either way, it might be good for the boys for Dad to boot them out. He won’t be around forever, and maybe he has concerns the boy’s won’t make it on their own after he’s gone. A lot of us have seen family owned and run businesses fail after the kids take over. Maybe that’s what worries Pops.
Anyhow, it looks like P Jr and Mikey are headed in the right direction and hopefully being successful.
I’m probably full of malarkey regarding this, but It makes me wonder.
Good luck to the whole family. I hope you all make peace and may good fortune and health find you.

  20. I’m on both side because I got love for them it’s not fine for them to be fight like this but one day they soon will realize same

  21. how can you get a special buulit bike bilt, maybe for the show,,i would like a chopper built with 2 rear tiresomne that looks like a real choper ,i have neve rode just on ,but,it kept fsllin on mr when i stopped,i see the ones on tv they look like tricycles i havve sever weakness ib my arms would need handle bars that up and ,down i think this woulle be down i think this would be a great bike to built on your show, ansd one that wouold not fqall overr when i sto

  22. I must ‘ve missed something. Who won the build off?

    • Really! what happened. The build off was the cliffhanger. How do you start a new season without getting back to the hanger? I can’t believe the show is just moving on. I find it disappointing……

      • Exactly! It was a “Build-off” no matter how it’s being down played now. I want results!

        • Paul Jr. Designs won the Cadillac Bike Build-Off. OCC’s top bid on the bike was approximately $52,000 dollars with approximately 11,000 facebook users voting their bike the best. PJD’s bike had the highest bid at approximately $115,000 with almost 150,000 facebook users choosing his bike as best. It looks like the argument over who the better builder is has come to a decisive end. PJD!!!!!

    • I’ll bet the “cliffhanger”, having turned into a giant avalanche, and Sr. having control with the producers, produced the expected result. Sour grapes! Sr. got blown away so now it never was a build-off, never was a competition, and there’s no further mention of it.

  23. If you go by the number of votes and the amount the PJD bike went for the clear winner of the build is Paul Jr.

  24. SHOW PATIENCE READERS, I KNOW THIS IS LONG
When I look at both bikes, next to the car, Sr.’s does look like the car, but, it is so tamed down. Jr.’s, when you look at it, WOW!. This is what the car looks like Chopper style…It was a beautiful bike. It did not necesarily look like the car, but, like the choppers he created at OCC, that his dad approved of, by the way, he incorporated specific parts to the bike.

I thought Sr. would of, after two years, got all of his ranting out of his system toward Jr. I was wrong….I was shocked of the vindictiveness he would spew out of his mouth toward Jr. First, belittles Jr. talent in making a better bike. He is going to show Jr. who is the better bike builder, they don’t have the equipment, nor the brains, then, belittles Jr. on how he is going to race faster time than Jr., and is going to beat him, then, he harps about paranoia toward Jr., but is crawling thru the grass to leave a sign on Jr.’s property, then, his soundbites after the build-off, which you can see the videos on Jr. website, cutting down Jr.’s bike. I know you have heard of parents that favors one child, because that child is no competition toward there intellect, or talent, then the child they hate, because that child has qualities and talent that they are lacking. Well, this is what you have been seeing for 10 years with this family.

RICK- I have no use for RICK either. Everyone had thought Rick saw thru all this. Nope. He was right there cheering Sr. on when Sr. decided to fly a bike off the roof with a dummy, aka Jr. strapped to it, and cheered as it was decapitated, and dismembered.

ODIE-I thought when Sr. saw the episode about ODIE trying to trash some of the parts that was to be put on the bike they were working on when he was with Jr., would of shown the reason Jr. fired him, and trying to imitate Jr. by wearing glasses, baseball cap, and copying what Jr. would say. But, he said, Jr. fired Odie for the same reason Jr. got fired. There was no comparison…Even when he reached out to Jr. by settling the lawsuit, he was discrediting him.

He does not like JR. Jr. is what he wants to be, plus, at that age, Sr. was a drunk, and addicted to drugs. Jr. has the qualities that he wants. Patience, respect from others, not having to bully people to get there attention, not having to remind his workers he owns them, when Jr. can calmly approach a person, problem, with level-headedness, and has the patience to step back, and think the problem, or design thru.

Those years that Sr. cannot remember, and was taken advantage of during his drunken state-of-mind, has created a paranoia, control freak, insecurity, that no one will take something from him again. Unless they seek therapy, after ridding themself of the addiction, to build there confidence up in themselves, they can turn out this way.

JR.- I hope he watched all these episodes. If he has reconciled with his dad by now, since the events were several months ago, that are just now showing, he is going to be in for a shock of the abusive comments toward him from Sr.

Sr. mother- I can’t believe she approves of this. Is she so intimidated by Sr. that she cannot speak up to him about his horrible words he constantly compulsively has toward Jr.? Does she not know the control she has toward Sr.? That she could sway him to see and listen to himself? He completely melts when he is around her. He is there at her bidding.

COMPANIES ADDING FUEL TO THE FLAME- I wish the companies would stay out of setting them against each other….this family will never be able to reconcile…since it sparks Sr. into this compulsive abuse toward Jr.

    • You know what?
You’re probably right about some of what you say.
I said some stuff on here too and now I regret it.
I don’t watch a lot of the reality shows, but I’ve watched this one because I love to build things and it reminds me of people I’ve worked with before. The show has some very strong characters which make it fun to watch.
The reason I regret making my comments on here is because who am I to judge/analyze them – or anybody really?
I realize their relationships are broadcast to the world so it’s out there for all of us to react to.
However, I pity them all because of that. They both agree to participate in the show because it pays well and it’s about the best exposure you could have, but when we all get on here and gossip about them it reminds me of the British tabloid papers and the way they abuse celebrities.
For Sr. and Jr.’s sake I hope what we’ve been watching has been dramatized at least a little bit to make more interesting viewing. If not, and it’s the real deal – then Lord help them. There’s serious damage there.
I wish all of them the best, and hopefully everything will work out for the best. Life is short.
Hopefully we’ll get to see some happier times for the family this season.

    • Right on sister. You read my mind!

  25. So it has been a long time since they both built a Cadilac Bike. By the vote on this site, Jr won in a landside, but what was the actual outcome of this build off.
As an aside, if senior would have treated Junior any where near the way he treats his crew now (especially the two morons Mike & Jason), There never would have been any problems.

  26. Jr. Just wanted to say we are all glad to see you got the widow. Still waiting for those logos for your Wikipedia page. Keep up the good work.

  27. It is not even a contest. Hands down Jr is the best. I am sure Sr can put together a bike, but he is not a designer/fabricator/inovater. It is not like it was even Jr vs. Sr. It was Jr and Vinnie vs the whole other shop. I can’t even see how Sr can take credit for any of it. I hate to see the family in the shape it is in. I think Sr just can’t handle the success and popularity (though well deserved) that Jr has earned. I look forward to watching Jr’s growing success. Can’t forget Vinnie, great team you two make. Only one worthy enough at that other shop down the road is Rick. Wish he could have split with you two. Keep up the great work.

  28. Ozzie Osbourne is quoted as saying “You should be careful how you treat those you pass on your way to the top, Because they are the same people you will pass on your way down”. This is something Paul Sr. should have realized because with out question he and his company are on their way down. And I for one will enjoy the day when he has to admit defeat. I hope Rick survives and ends up where he belongs, once again working side by side with Jr. and Vinnie. As for the rest of the OCC crew I hope they don’t expect any kind of loyalty from Sr. when the end comes because his actions towards his own family have shown us that he cares about nothing other then himself. I know he has a mind set of “I got mine so screw everyone who helped me get it, We are done you all are on your own see ya”!!!

  29. I’m watching the Gears Of War 3 build and that trike is sick!
