Check out what’s to come when American Chopper Returns: ‘American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior’ Season 2.5 Premieres August 29
The moment that American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior fans have been waiting for has finally arrived!
On May 30, American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior will begin its two-part Cadillac build-off that will pit Orange County Choppers against Paul Jr. Designs to see who can build the better bike for the same company.
With both Orange County Choppers and Paul Jr. Designs using the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe as inspiration for their bikes, Paul Teutul Jr. calls it “an apples to apples build: Paul Jr. Designs to OCC.”
Unfortunately, Paul Teutul Sr. doesn’t see it that way, saying that this wasn’t a build-off, but that “it was just a bike that we both built for Cadillac.”
Of course, you wouldn’t know that from seeing the episode. From the moment that Paul, Sr. and Paul, Jr. quickly passed each other in the halls at the Cadillac headquarters, everyone – including Senior himself – made it sound like this was very much an OCC vs. PJD event. Even Bob Boniface, Director of Exterior Design at Cadillac, said that everyone at the car company is “expecting a pretty good shoot-out,” but that “nobody is taking sides.”

The Inspiration: Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
Besides the highly-anticipated build-off, that both companies are taking extremely seriously, Cadillac upped the ante by making Paul, Sr. and Paul, Jr. unveil their bikes at the same time – in front of each other.
Paul, Sr. explains further:
“They made us meet in the center – bikes face to face – and I had to talk about my bike and then I had to hand him the mic and he talked about his bike. It was very civil.”
Paul, Jr. describes things from his side:
“You know, it was a little awkward, but we took alot of pride in the build and, obviously, I think it upped the ante a little bit for both sides. It was an awesome opportunity and we took full advantage of it, and it was a good unveil.”
Proving that even though they’re currently at odds, they’re still father and son, Paul, Jr. also downplayed any aspect of a build-off, but his comments in the episode say otherwise.
Explaining to me how he sees the event, Paul, Jr. said:
“You know, it was ok – it was fine. I mean, it’s business. We had the same client, Cadillac, [and] they commissioned both of us to build a bike. We were both commissioned to build a bike for Cadillac and [were] given alot of creative freedom; at least we were on this side in the fact that we didn’t have to submit drawings – I think they submitted drawings on their side. So, it made sense in that its business, so we were able to do it.”
Without giving anything away, I will say that both Orange County Choppers and Paul Jr. Designs put a lot of work into both of their bikes. For fans of PJD’s residence tank-builder, Brendon Thompson, you’ll be happy to know that he sticks around the entire build.
Not to leave out OCC, if the episode stays in its current form, fans well be treated to a montage of curse-riddled rants from Mike Amorati that would make Joe Pesci blush at the end of the episode. (the version I saw was partially uncensored, but will obviously change when it airs)
First time since the series’ shift, it’s now safe to say that this is no longer American Chopper: The Series, it’s American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior.

You know, I am getting a bit sick of Sr.’s attitude towards Jr.
Sr. takes jabs at Jr. EVERY opportunity he gets while Jr. is nothing but neutral/civil when it comes to commenting about OCC and his Father. This may be all an act and the editors are just cutting out all of Jr.’s pot shots but I highly doubt it.
It’s getting old and Dad needs to grow up a bit and quit belittling his kids.
i think that the Harley Paul Jr. rebuilt was awesome! that’s same kind i wish i had…..love it! and yes, they need to get back together and build my bike for me…lol they would do good together now…let your pride go and work together as a team! isn’t that what family is?
i wish to say jr is the best bike builder out there
his dad is like all fathers that think they know it all
he thinks his son still learning
but i think dad will sone learne that the boy has become a man
and has past his dad in a long way.
the story of rabit and the tertal come to mind
jr is the tertal and wins this race.
so keep going jr. we all like what you are doing
ALL I CAN SAY IS VERY NICE BIKES SR AND JR I WISH I COULD GET ONE BIKE FROM BOTH OF YOU I JUST DONT HAVE THE $$$$$$ ALL I HAVE IS DREAMS THAT I HAVE ONE
Paul,Jr has a creative mind
I am not really on any side but let’s let the bikes speak for themselves. I am sure it will make both sides push the limits and there will be cool bikes out of the deal.
I think it is pretty well understood now universally who the better builder is Paul Jr. Sr. should finally admit what is abvious to just about everyone. He should take pride in the fact that Jr is his Son, and learned a wonderful skill from him. Instead of belittling him, show pride. Lets bring this family together Sr. It’s time…
You know, I think Paul jr. Is the creative one and builds an awesome bike with his hands and with what he has in his shop to work with, sr on the other hand has somebody do the creativeness for him on a computer, so i think jr. Is the better bike builder.
I said the exact same thing as you, three hours after you did. Sorry about that.
But I’m glad to see so many people are standing behind Jr.
PJD turns out A higher quality product with a whole lot less staff and equipment then OCC. Which to me speaks volumes to who is the better builder.(And on a side note I’m glad to see Vinnie and Cody working with Jr. If only Rick would jump ship at OCC and move over to PJD then everything would be right with the world.)
Sr. is such a hard head. Paul Jr. is the real deal. I recently watched the Trim Spa episode from a few years back. That was thier first big money bike. Sr. did not have a clue. Jr. made it happen.
KL
As long as JR keeps taking the high road hes going to make it big.
Paul Sr. Is an old dude with an old man style. Just check out his Hulk Hogan stache…lmao. Any one that deals with the real world knows that old school is cool but, not when it relates to the future transportation. Old is old when its all said and done. Paul Jr took OCC to the top level and will continue.to.do.so.as.Sr goes.about making his bobbers. Good luck in the future old timer. The future rolls on!
Ya know, bout three years ago my son and I had a fallin out….I appologized..several times.but still to no avail….SR and JR don’t let this go to the point of no return…..life is too short not to cherrish each and every min we have on this Earth as Father and sun..
God Bless ya both Fugly SOBs.
Rattler
I have to agree with the general sentiment here that Sr. is definitely the more immature one out of the two. Jr. has already admitted that he was wrong to throw the fit that he did back when he was fired, and that he should have handled it better, but Sr. doesn’t do a thing to even give Jr. a chance to make it up to him even if he wanted. He’s constantly talking so much crap about Jr. and about how much “better” OCC is without him, yet in reality, all of their bikes now are so generic, just different paint schemes. Jr. was obviously the creative one out of the two and his builds are always so much more inspired, not just fancy looking… I just hope he’s as good of a business man as he is a bike builder so they can stay in business. Would be a shame to see his company go under and to not see any more of his custom builds…
My husband and I have watched your shows since day one, we feel terrible that the two of you have still not reconciled. our ( my husband and I’s )family’s have been through so many ups and downs, but we always come out loving each other. Life is way too short for Father and son to have gone thru what you two have went through, someone (dad) needs to be the hero in this messed up relationship you two have,,, Sr., this is the son you have raised and you two are so much alike, wonder where Jr. gets his attitude? Be the man and say your sorry, so Jr. can learn a lesson from just that. who better to learn from than his own father!! If tomorrow you wake up and find out he is gone forever and you will never be able to see him again, what a life you will have to live knowing you could have done something about it!! Jr. has shown so much maturity since he’s been on his own and I would be proud to have him as my son!!
lets make it an even playing feild no computer designing!!all what you have the 5 inches between the ears baby!!both have a sufficent amount of time to make THE CADILLAC Masterpeice?may the better bike winner take the trophy!! ps-Paulie-candy apple red- gold- nickel; mold it sweet just like your hott wife racheal!!she’s a winner in my book paulie you dirty dawg!!
Now that i see the car use Pewter-Nickel and let nubbs put a nice caddy graphic on it ? nothing to over the top but definately an eye CATCHER..Kapeesh……..Hope you win bro!!!!
I Pray every day for the family,God bless
Guys , I’m a 42 tear old above knee amputee . Love the show . Understand the relationship. I m practice manager of a national orthopedic company . Components of prosthetics could lend to a great build.
Mikey is a drama queen,Paul is talented but wouldnt be anything if it wasnt for his dad his dad made the buissnes and if he wants to run it with an iron fist its his to do so.maybe he could be a little harsh.the boys would be NOTHING if sr.didnt step out and go into buissnes and bring them along for the ride. Im sure there is more to it but what I see it looks like what is goimg on through out the world, kids dont appreciate anything.Sr. has every ritd to be playing hardball.Kids just expect everything to be handed to them no respect,go Sr. im in your court.
Its obvious you haven’t watched the show. Paulie has been working with his old man since the basement shop days. Paulie made the business with is designs, not the dad.
He may have been a good businessman, but the business was based on Paulie’s work.
All kidding aside. It’s Junior who’s obviously yhe better bike builder. He might not know how to wire a bike or build motors but that’s why you have someone like Vinny to compliment him. I always hear Senior trashing him about his knowledge of bikes, but i’ve never seen Senior doing anything other then yelling and periodically helping put on the fenders. Senior may have have started from nothing and everyone needs a helping hand to get ahead in the world. You may have given Paulie the platform, but he took OCC to a whole new level. Sr. needs to really go back and watch the old episodes and realize how they got to be so big. The jet bike, commanche, fire bike, trim spa, snap-on and the black widow. You might have the business sense, but Junior had all the creativity. Stick to what you do best and work it out. Senior and OCC is only getting business on name recognition and not quality of work. On a side note. Did’t junior design the forks for your Hair club for men bike. You’ve used those alot lately. Good luck and god bless.
Tired of watching Paul sr and his over cocky crew want to see more of PJD!!!!
Paul Sr. suffers from some type of psychological disorder, almost a borderline personality, where he views himself as the consummate victim, and portrays onto Jr. attributes existing in himself and not his son. He fails to take any responsibility around these issues, placing all blame entirely on his son. Just watching older episodes, in light of recent events, you see Sr.’s obsession with Paul’s time at OCC. He doesn’t care at all about his work, or what he brings to the table, he is solely obsessed with what time Jr. arrives at work and how many hours he has worked. He absolutely cuts his nose to spite his face, and suffers from sometype of pathology obsessing on such a rudimentary aspect of his profession. He is his own worst enemy, constantly tripping over himself. I would hazard to guess that if you calculated total lost work time due to Sr.’s harangues etc. over Jr.’s time management, that it would be sufficient for him to have built at least two other bikes in place thereof. Why does no one stand up to him, esp. his wife who seems somewhat enlightened. I am sure they all know it is a losing battle as with a personality such as he only a professional could get through to him; he truly needs a big couch in Vienna.
yo jr on the cad build u got it hands down.the way u build is the correct way, that is the way i use to build the bikes yrs ago.just keep moving foreward,u know what to do.mikey is a big part of this journey.
I just saw the first episode. Truthfully I expected more put of Jr. The quad exhaust looks a bit cheesy compared to what OCC has going on. Technically this is not Jr vs Sr. It’s Jr vs that kid with his computer. Let’s see Sr and Jr build a bike from the ground up without anybody helping except for paint. No computer crap. Then that’s a bike build off.
what the hell is anthony tyler talking about?
im with you rich ??????
Paul Sr.will you and son stop acting like I watch your show I do not miss show .I know what feels like not speaking your son because you are the dad you feel he should make the move But you can be the better man it hurt but end the end it be O .K you loss your best friend in Me.Gus so think about lossing a son
jr n sr make great bikes but they both won’t be able to work under the same roof again.jr would like to see a change in sr to make this work but listen,no one really changes,SR feelings, attitude, and attempt to belittle JR will be hard to forget from the viewer to the family itself.this is only my opinion.at least talk to each other but don’t work together
Jr doesn’t use a computer, and his bike looked amazing! OCC’s bike was designed on a computer and didn’t hold a candle to Jr’s
Paul Jr has the creativity like he has had when OCC began. Paul Sr could never hold a candle to Paul Jr and that is what has eaten Paul Sr up inside. With out all the computers and special machines Paul Jr has been building quality out of this world bikes for a long time. I truly worry at what the result will do to Paul Sr. I do not think that he could handle losy to Paul Jr. May god bless them both
I would not want to be in a bike build off against Jr. Vinny and Brendon. I hope egos dont get the better of them as it did Sr. If they stick together PJD could be huge! No doubt I would be glued to the flatscreen every week.
It is a true shame that two lives have to come to a bike build off to try and rekindle a realationship between a father and his son. Unfortunately Paul Jr is not the only one Sr is having problems with. He also is having problems with his other son. I believe that Sr has a very troubled mind and needs the help of a doctor to help him get through this very tough time in his life. I hope that it does not end up a very negative outcome for Sr. He appears to be on a tight rope in his life right now. If I were the people who are doing this series I would make sure you have some doctors there in case of a very bad outcome for Sr
