The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has a lot riding on it in terms of actually telling the untold story of Peter Parker’s past, as well as setting up a much larger Spider-Man movie universe. But before we arrive at the bigger battle to come in Amazing Spider-Man 3or those villain-centric films centering on The Sinister Six and Venom, we have to actually be intrigued by the story of Peter’s (Andrew Garfield) re-kindled friendship with Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) and Oscorp’s role in the creation of a new type of super-powered being, Electro (Jamie Foxx).

A new gallery of Amazing Spider-Man 2 images spotlights all of the aforementioned plot elements – with the added bonus of yet another look at the lovely Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. In addition to those pictures, the featurette above explains how The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the greenest production that Sony has ever had.

The vivid colors and overall production design of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, look pretty great – but hopefully some of the more cartoonish or video game-esque special effects seen in the trailers for the film will be balanced out by the darkened tones of 3D viewing. It’ll also be interesting to see if the green initiatives for things like smoke effects provide the same level of believability as the traditional (read: less green) methods of creating those effects. Shouldn’t be a problem, though.

  1. Kudos to Sony.

    • Wow. This is TRULY amazing. An eco-friendly film production. I most DEFINITELY want to see this. Nice work Sony. You have inspired me.

  2. Spidey now has to make some smart quip about recycling while throwing some baddies in a dumpster or something :)

  3. Great news!

More ASM2 news and set photos!!

I wish the move would just come out already. I also hope it lives up to all this hype. It looks phenomenal though.

  4. that was cool

  5. Maybe Electro could help with some of these power outages we’re having lately .
Or he could power up a few Tesla’s.

  6. This is great to know! More films should be like this, and when you have big film companies, they should re-use sets and use efficient methods to keep waste reduced. I respect Sony for this. I might even buy a canteen in future!
