A couple of weeks ago we got our first proper look at most of the characters from Tim Burton’s upcoming Alice in Wonderland. It finally confirmed Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter look, as well as revealing Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, Anna Hathaway as The White Queen and Matt Lucas as Tweedledee & Tweedledum. Any views we’ve gotten of the titular Alice so far haven’t been very close-up.

Today we have three new character shots of The Mad Hatter, The Red Queen and, that’s right, Alice herself (being played by newcomer Mia Wasikowska). The images were originally scanned from Vanity Fair magazine and put onto Planet Disney, but thanks to the work of the good folks at /Film, we have cleaned up versions of the photos. Check out the three of them below:

Even though these Alice in Wonderland images don’t give us a look at any new characters (wonder when we’ll see Stephen Fry as The Cheshire Cat, Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts or Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar?), it still gives us more of a look. As you can see, Alice is holding the famous White Rabbit that leads her down the hole, and as a little FYI, the rabbit is played (presumably voiced) by Michael Sheen (soon to be seen in The Twilight Saga: New Moon) – just one of the many things I’m looking forward to seeing as part of Burton’s vision.
Burton’s latest film is looking better and better all the time, in my eyes.

Alice in Wonderland is slated for a release on March 5th in the US, and on March 12th in the UK, both in 2010.

Very cool! I do enjoy a Tim Burton film, and as expected, I will enjoy the job Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp will do. This should be fun.

Can’t wait for Alice in Wonderland to be released. Would’ve been great if it was a kind of family/slightly horror movie. An example would be Coraline, liked it a lot and would want to see more of this genre. Any tips of movies that are like that?
I just lloked at those pictures at ComingSoon. They are amazing,just dessert for the eyes.

Well, I don’t blame you Ken, Johnny Depp is a bit of a weirdo, but a cool one.
as im sitting here petting my dog i realized that yes im excited about the movie and yes ive just randomly googled this website and wrote this but yes johnny depp is sexy and attractive and the movie looks good but im pretty sure nothing will get me to change my mind of the fact that the original Alice in wonderland movie will always be a classic and yes it does get corny when they put real actors in the movie but since johnny depp is there yes i know its going to be funny and all the little girls are jizzing in their pants but from my view on this subject…eh..ill go see it and ill probably laugh like a little ass hole..but who is really going on the day it comes out…do you really want to sit with little girls and their moms and probably want to leave early because it will get to the point when one will get bitch smacked :] lol well ive stated my confusing point and hope some of you gain something off of this cause all ive gained is sore fingersss :]
