I am a HUge Burton fan, and when i heard that he was on for Alice, my first thought, Perfect choice! I don’t know about anyone else out there, but his style seems to fit with the World of Alice in wonderland

John "Kahless" Taylor says:

I think this movie is going to rock hard! I think Rickman is a wonderful actor who can do it all: drama, comedy, action. This only makes me want to see this movie more.

RastaZen says:

Theres a lot of directors like Eastwood , Spike Lee and Tim Burton who like to use a lot of the same actors time and time again. I think it makes for a very effective work atmosphere when most everyone involved is so familiar and comfortable with each other.
I look forward to Burton’s Alice , it could be a lot of fun. I haven’t liked Everything that Burton has done but I have liked MOST of it. I think this story will be a great fit for Burton , bring it on !!!

“Do you really think you have a chance against us, Mr. Cowboy?”

Sorry, that’s the only role I ever think of when I see or hear this guy, lol.

Ken J says:

James Cameron liked Arnold and Bill Paxton enough to cast them in several of his movies. Bill Paxton especially…

Um…not to sound negative or anything but why are they making a distinction between animation and stop-motion? Stop-motion is another form of animation after all.

JessSayin says:

With the exception of ‘Planet of the Apes’ and ‘Charlie and the Willy Wonka remake’ (which I’ll NEVER see)
Everything Tim Burton does is magic, fresh and visually stunning.

And Rickman in Die Hard, Robin Hood, Sweeney Todd (singing)….amazing!

I can’t wait for this movie!

(I even have a high res shot from Corpse Bride as my wallpaper)

John "Kahless" Taylor says:

I actually enjoyed Burton’s Planet of the Apes.

Uh, oh! Does this means I have been put on the “Do not listen to this idiot” list? :-) 8-) :-D

JessSayin says:

@Kahless:
We’re all friends here. There are no idiots, only idiotic movies.
Case in point, ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’

Personally, there were only two good things I remember liking about Burton’s Planet of the Apes

THIS MOVIE WILL ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Bronnie says:

Wow!!
I would’ve figured him for the Cheshire Cat, but either way, I will go to see it and pay tribute to The Man and The Voice.
:-D

phoenix says:

hey SunNightRaider, i think the difference is that people now-a-days equate stop motion with the claymation look like Burtons nightmare before christmas and corps bride… at least that’s what come to my mind

High Kalibur says:

Burton is the perfect person to helm this film. I pray that it is more motion picture than animation…

Mollie says:

I can’t wait for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland!!!! I am a HUGE Tim Burton fan! I am especially excited to know that Johnny Depp, my most favorite actor and Helena Bonham Carter, whom I also love, will be involved in “Alice.”

Unknown says:

I really like Alan, but I don’t think I can picture him as a caterpillar without laughing my ass off.

Kimberly says:

Martin Sheen is actually the Cheshire Cat. I think that’s awesome. And yes, Alan’s head on the Catepillar will be quite amusing. :)

LoveMeSomeHelena says:

I am also a huge Tim Burton fan and cannot wait for AIW 2010. .

To discuss what earlier comments were, using the same actors has been great for Burton. They all understand what he looks for on screen and how to portray what he needs from them in his unique style of film. I also hope it is less animation, but the guy pisses greatness.. so im not worried.

Side note:

I wonder if Burton ever considered Helena(his main lady + mother of his children) for the part of Alice…..

although she def knows her roles and they are obviously great together reguardless of where hes casting her in his movies

Haylee says:

I am thrilled about this film. I just recently heard about it and, like some of you, thought the Alice-Burton pairing is perfect. I was further excited by the casting choices. With only a very few exceptions, I love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp’s films, whether they are teamed up or not. ^^

Erica S. says:

I am a huge Tim Burton fan. I love the trio of Burton, Carter and Depp. To me these three can make a movie and no matter what, it’s going to be great. I’m really looking forward to Alice. Rickman as the caterpillar is going to be funny, but he is perfect for it. I don’t know about the big headed Cater though. It’ll take a lot for me not to giggle every time I see that, but I think I’ll be able to hold it in, since it is my favorite actress.

Kidonia Shinji says:

As far as The Day The Earth Stood Still goes, are you talking the remake or the original? I enjoyed the original, but I don’t want to see the remake…As far as most things Burton go, much love to them, I didn’t mind the Charlie and The Chocolate Factory mostly because they did keep most of the book material in line(except for the vermicious Knids). In any case I believe this will be a good flick and look forward to having the theatrical experience of watching it.

Hi, I’m a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland, Johnny Depp and Alan Rickman. It’ll be so exiting to see this film next year. I don’t remember ever waiting for a film this much. Or maybe Lord of the Rings.
I trust that Tim Burton will deliver and fill our expectations.

cody says:

This sounds great.

Also, what I’m guessing is that the “animation” bit means computer generated animation. So it’d be live action, computer animation, and stop-motion. Sounds good to me!

Jacob says:

I wonder if he is going to incorporate “Through the Looking Glass” as Disney did. It will be very interesting to see how Burton plays this one out.

Emmawh says:

If the same actors do the trick, then why changing them? I can’t wait for this movie!!

Kara says:

I love Johnny Depp’s, Alan Rickman’s AND Crispin Glover’s acting! So many great actors in one film, I am SO excited for this film. I can’t remember the last time I was so excited for a film to come out!

rob obrien says:

I’m a great fan of Rickman ie Snape. He was tremendous. His delivery of lines were most memorable parts of HP. I hope this movie delivers.

If you are a fan of Alice this movie strays from the story. I heard it picks up where Lewis Carroll ended.
