[SPOILERS for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season two ahead.]
Things had gotten exciting on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – very exciting, at that – when the Marvel and ABC TV show reached the conclusion to its second season. The S.H.I.E.L.D. season three poster has already confirmed one thing that the season two finale alluded to (and which we had predicted a while back): that in the episodes ahead, Skye/Daisy (Chloe Bennet) will be forming her own teaming “Secret Warriors”, a group of agents with extraordinary powers – one that will include Skye’s fellow Inhuman Lincoln Campbell (Luke Mitchell) among its ranks.
That’s good news for the world too, seeing as more and more Inhumans should be popping up on Earth when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season three gets underway. After all, you probably recall that the second half of the show’s season two finale, “S.O.S.”, revealed that Terrigen crystals had made their way into Omega-3 pills being sold around the globe – meaning, it’s only a matter of time before more Inhumans are ‘gifted’ with their powers.
Other things to note from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season two finale:
- Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) got sucked up by the mysterious Inhumans artifact in the credits sequence – how will that have affected her, when we see her again in season three?
- Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) is looking to wreak more havoc, having resumed his Hydra-serving ways.
- Director Coulson’s (Clark Gregg) agent team is bigger and more unified than ever – but who knows how long that will last…
On that note, check out the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. poster – featuring Coulson and his new replacement hand (recall, he lost his left hand in the season two finale) – that will be featured at the 2015 Comic-Con International, courtesy of TV Insider:
Marvel Studios won’t be hosting a panel for its upcoming film releases at the 2015 Comic-Con event in San Diego, but Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and fellow Marvel/ABC TV series Agent Carter will be present and accounted for, during the fast-approaching ‘Con. Naturally, with so many big plot developments having been set in motion by the S.H.I.E.L.D. season two finale, it’s unlikely that the Comic-Con attendees will be provided with too much concrete information about what comes next for Coulson and his agents (during the S.H.I.E.L.D./Carter panel).
As for the above poster (by artist Jim Cheung and colorist Romulo Fajardo Jr.) – those who attend SDCC 2015 will be able pick up the one-sheet at the Marvel booth on the San Diego Convention Center floor. Much like the SDCC 2015 poster for Agent Carter season two, though, the S.H.I.E.L.D. poster will only be available for a limited time (due to there being finite copies) – so, if you’re interested, best to pick it up sooner than later.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season three starts airing on ABC on September 29th, 2015. Agent Carter season two will air during the mid-season break in early 2016.
