The first season of Marvel’s television addition to its cinematic universe, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., was highly anticipated but, in the opinion of many, largely failed to deliver – until the last leg of the season after its tie in episode with Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Now, showrunners Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen are promising an action-packed season 2 with the inclusion of Adrianne Palicki as Mockingbird, Lucy Lawless as Agent Isabelle Hartley, Brian Patrick Wade as Absorbing Man, and more.

Although the previous teasers for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s second season haven’t offered fans any look at the new characters – or the appearance of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) in the premiere – this newly released trailer may offer a loose tie-in to another Marvel movie. That is, in terms of soundtrack.

The trailer for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (above) takes a page from the Iron Man 2 soundtrack – which was created by AC/DC and even included the song “Highway to Hell” – and samples AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.” Otherwise, the trailer features a series of quick looks at the returning characters – Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team as well as ex-Hydra Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) – and perhaps teases an appearance of Wade’s Absorbing Man, though it’s hard to tell as he’s being kicked in the chest by Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen).

The season 2 trailer also has a voiceover that reintroduces viewers to where we left Coulson: “What once was S.H.I.E.L.D. no longer exists, but their enemies are still out there and the world can’t save itself.” As fans will remember, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been disbanded and Coulson has taken up the task to rebuild the agency as much as possible and restore the world’s trust in them.

Although season 1 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had its low points (perhaps more low than high points depending on who you asked), most agree that the series hit its stride after the reveal of Hydra. As executive producer Jeff Bell phrased it, they started “sprinting” and will continue at the same speed into season 2.

The trailer for season 2 doesn’t give fans too much to go off aside from two brief glimpses at possible new characters and Coulson’s team performing a few stunts, but it may be enough to drum up excitement in viewers.
