All in all, the second season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been a vast improvement over its first. The series has become progressively darker, more cinematic, and the characters have gone from model-attractive actors on an ABC show to names and faces loved by many of the Marvel fandom.

The introduction of The Inhumans (who won’t even have a film until 2019) and the inclusion of new superpowered characters into the MCU have helped to cement AoS as a integral part of the MCU. The two-part season finale is said to be massive; and judging by what’s been unveiled thus far, it looks like tensions are running high among Coulson and his team.

Marvel has not only debuted some new images from the AoS season two finale (“S.O.S.”), but also released two small clips from the proceeding episode, “Scars” – teasing the conflict that is about to erupt between the S.H.I.E.L.D. characters and the Inhumans. Unfortunately for Skye too, it looks like she’s about to be caught in the middle of it all.

Check out the second clip from “Scars” below, followed by the “S.O.S.” image gallery:

The series has been building towards this finale for a long time now. From the first time audiences saw that mysterious blue alien, to the introduction of the “real” S.H.I.E.L.D. – the building blocks have been completed and it looks like audiences are finally going to get to see what it was all leading up to. The series has brought Skye to the forefront of this series, and it looks like she’ll have an even larger role to play in the finale than ever before – by being torn between her S.H.I.E.L.D. families and Inhuman families.

AoS reportedly has a spin-off series focusing on Bobbi and Lance in development; there’s also the unknown Marvel project at ABC from 12 Years a Slave screenwriter John Ridley, suggesting this season two finale could end up being even more of a game-changer than audiences expect. Following Lincoln’s rescue and tensions growing between the two factions of characters, one thing’s for sure: this season will likely end in a massive battle. Fans will just have to wait and see which side ends up coming out on top… and which doesn’t.
