It has been a number of weeks since a new episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has aired, and the way it left viewers raised more questions than resolutions. While the immediate threat of LMDs has passed, it has truly only been pushed aside as Quake (Chloe Bennet) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) now try to maneuver their way through the Framework created by Aida and Dr. Radcliffe. The introduction of the Framework was teased before, but with almost the entire cast living within the artificial world, it has been the spark for change within the series.

One of the biggest changes has been the "revival" of Grant Ward, with Brett Dalton returning as the fan-favorite villain. The brief glimpse so far shown of him has not revealed whether he will be aiding Quake in her story or working against her once more, but either way Dalton will make his return next week. As fans wait for this return and the end of this hiatus, new information from the next episode has been revealed.

ABC unveiled a press release for episode 17 of season 4 titled "Identity and Change." The synopsis included in this release did not do much to spoil what comes before, but instead reveals the introduction of a new movement or organization, simply going as the Resistance.

As Daisy and Simmons struggle to discover an escape route to the real world, the identity of the Inhuman leader of the Resistance is revealed.

In addition to the tease of the Resistance and their mystery Inhuman leader, a new photo has also surfaced that features Ward in a high security tunnel, possibly even the entrance to the Resistance's base.

If the Resistance and the identity of the their Inhuman leader does lie beyond door C7, then this could be an indication that Ward is working with the supposed good guys this time around. By using a name like the Resistance and given the fact Hydra now reigns supreme in this alternate world, what this group is resisting is more than likely the mistreatment of Inhumans. If it is an Inhuman leader at the forefront of this, it does not leave too many possibilities for who it could be.

The following is strictly speculation as no previous Inhuman characters have been among the familiar faces confirmed to return in these later episodes, but there are still a few interesting options. Daisy's mother Jiaying (Dichen Lachman) could be a possibility and a great switch after she was the catalyst for an Inhuman war in season 2, especially as it would give Daisy another person she's had a rough relationship with in the real world working towards the same goal in the Framework.

Other contenders could be Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) returning as it could then see Ward and Lincoln working together potentially, while Raina (Ruth Negga) and Andrew Gardner (Blair Underwood) would also be great choices. Regardless of whether or not any of these characters could be the face of the Resistance, it should be interesting to see how it develops moving forward.
