In exactly two weeks, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 will begin on ABC with a retooled roster when compared to the season before. Coming into this season, the show will be without the likes of Adrianne Palicki, Nick Blood, Luke Mitchell, Brett Dalton, and many more, but it will have brought in a fair number of new faces to compensate. When the season premieres, fans will get to meet many of the previously reported names, but none is more anticipated than the arrival of Robbie Reyes, aka Ghost Rider. The full season 4 synopsis teased his inclusion this season, and just recently the first look at Gabriel Luna as Reyes was revealed.

Marvel and ABC are clearly pushing the fact that Ghost Rider will be featured throughout season 4, with his debut further hinted at with the episode one title. Now, it has become official, but as it turns out, he will not be the only Reyes to make his debut early on.

ABC has released the official synopsis for the season 4 premiere. Along with giving an updated version of the original synopsis, the cast list reveals the casting of Gabe Reyes, Robbie's younger brother. As it turns out, Fear the Walking Dead star Lorenzo James Henrie has landed the part of the disabled sibling that Robbie must look after.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns with a vengeance for the fourth exciting season in an all-new time period, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network. In the aftermath of their journey to another planet, Director Phil Coulson and the rest of the team were driven more than ever to put an end to the Hydra organization. Little did they know that they were up against the deadliest threat they’ve ever faced – an extremely powerful Inhuman, Hive, who was transported back from Maveth in the body of their worst enemy, Grant Ward. The team was able to thwart and kill Hive and take down Hydra, but they are all still mourning the death of fellow agent and Inhuman Lincoln Campbell.

In light of the Sokovia Accords, and with Hydra obliterated, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been legitimatized again and no longer needs to operate in the shadows. Since the world presumes that Coulson is dead, the organization needed a new Director to be the face of the organization. Coulson finds himself back in the role as an agent and teamed with Mack, and together they are tasked with tracking down and confirming the presence of Enhanced people, aka Inhumans. Agent May is tasked with training specialist strike teams, and Fitz and Simmons have taken a big step forward in their relationship."

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson,Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons and Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie.

Guest starring are Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez, Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes, Mallory Jansen as Aida, Lorenzo James Henrie as Gabe, Briana Venskus as Agent Piper, Max Osinski as Agent Red, Ricardo Walker as Agent Prince, Edward Gelhaus as skinhead, Ian Hutton as Blondie, Blaise Miller as lab tech, Samuel Barajas as Felix,Bryan Rasmussen as warehouse manager, Wilson Ramirez as Diego, Jen Kuo Sung as Chen, Jerry Ying as thug #1 and Lilli Birdsell as Lucy.

“The Ghost” was written by Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen and directed by Billy Gierhart.

Lorenzo James Henrie Fear the Walking Dead

It is not surprising to learn that Ghost Rider will debut in the season opener, but the casting of  Henrie as Gabe has been kept a secret throughout. For those who are not familiar with the Reyes family, Robbie's main goal in life is to provide Gabe with a better life and get him away from the gang-filled streets they live on. This is what ultimately drives Robbie to start street racing, which in the comics results in him becoming Ghost Rider.

Series showrunners, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, have already revealed that they will put their own twist on Robbie's origins, but expect the brotherly bond between Gabe and Robbie to stay the same. Henrie has shown he is a capable actor in Fear the Walking Dead, but this should not conflict with his schedule for the show. In the meantime, it is worth mentioning that neither Jason O'Mara or Parminder Nagra are listed to appear in the episode. The former is the new head of S.H.I.E.L.D., so it will be interesting to see how they explain the new S.H.I.E.L.D. without its leader. While fans wait to find out who he is, they can rest assured knowing both Reyes brothers will be in the season premiere.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 premieres Tuesday, September 20 @10pm on ABC.
