I remember over the years, buying follow up CDs, seeing sequels or new films by my favorite directors, etc., and being SO disappointed. I remember in one week, THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK movie opened and the sequel to the very cool book (and marginal movie) THE RELIC, called THE RELIQUARY came out. Both were disappointing, and I couldn't believe it.

I went so far as to say, it's not that bad. Never again! I stop trying to excuse it, much like some Star Wars fans, including my best friend, did with PHANTOM MENACE.

Kane,

I've ALREADY applied that mindset to films. Why do you think there aren't more movie reviews here? If the word is that a particular movie is pretty awful I just won't go see it.

BTW, I'm a long time fan of "24" and I also thought this season was pretty lame. When they split off the storyline to address the second crisis I thought it went bad. Plus the first part didn't grab me the same way previous seasons had.

I was forced to watch season 4... loved it... then became addicted to season 5. Since I'd watch both on DVD over the course of 6 months, I delayed watching season 6.

You know what? I'm glad.

From what I've heard, it's complete rubbish... and it dawned on me that I don't need to continue watching stuff just because I feel an obligation of some sort.

It's kinda liberating... and I'm beginning to think I need to apply the same lack of commitment to films. Maybe if we all tuned out and stopped visiting the box office, a bit of quality writing might be forced to trickle back.

While you're waiting, you should check out the other seasons of 24. If you want lots of action, try season 2 or 4. You want a great thriller, try season 1 or 3. 4 was my personal favorite although 1 is the most realistic and easiest to get into.
