The life of celebrities is always something people have wondered about. What’s it like making friends as an actor? Their lives are so glamorous and chaotic. Really, though, actors make friendships the same way as normal, everyday people.

Fans love to see their favorite stars form real-life friendships. They become more relatable and it reminds us of how much we love hanging around our own friends. We see pictures of celebrity BFFs that inspire us and make us a little jealous, wishing we were a part of something that cool.

In order to get through the craziness that is Hollywood, actors need to have friends that understand their lifestyle. Everyone needs a partner in crime.

Celebrity friendships come in all kinds of varieties. The world has seen amazing friendships that are considered goals, such as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Duos like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon are well-known, but there are some famous friendships that fly under the radar.  Whether they met on set or in their childhood, these celebs have formed tight friendships.

Here are the 15 Actors You Never Knew Were Best Friends.

 Brie Larson and Emma Stone

Brie Larson and Emma Stone are two of Hollywood’s most popular actresses at the moment. Both have starred in Oscar nominated films like Room and LaLa Land, and they each receive a lot of attention around awards season.

Their friendship came to light after Emma Stone won an Oscar for Best Actress. Larson posted an image on her Instagram of her and Emma hugging with the caption, “You know what’s better than winning? Watching your friends win.”

They are also both part of an amazing group chat that includes fellow actresses Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Schumer, and Lena Dunham.

When Larson was having a hard time after filming the movie Room, she said those women were all there for her and helped her through it. The group text is important in a friend group, even to famous actresses.

 Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch

Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch form a fantastic British bromance. They first met on the set of War Horse and have been best friends ever since. Fangirls on Tumblr can’t get enough of their friendship.

They’ve gushed about each other’s talent in interviews and aren’t afraid to defend one another from probing questions. In an interview with the Toronto Star, Hiddleston said “he’s one of my best friends. It’s as simple as that.” Cumberbatch has also called Hiddleston his best friend and a talented actor.

The Marvel stars have had dance-offs, done spot on impressions of each other, and completed the ALS ice bucket challenge.

They aren’t afraid to show affection to one another, which is refreshing to see in a male friendship. Fans can't wait to see the two actors work together again in the near future as Loki and Doctor Strange.

Harry Styles and Zach Braff

A One Direction member turned actor and a former Scrubs star? That’s a strange match up. Harry Styles and Zach Braff’s epic bromance started when Braff realized Styles was following him on Twitter.

After Tweeting a few jokes about Harry’s fans following him, Braff and Styles became friends-- the Twitter conversations between the two are hilarious. Styles attended the Sundance festival to support Braff’s film Wish I Was Here. The Dunkirk star admitted that the movie made him cry on Twitter, which Braff said was great publicity.

The pair even had a romantic candlelit dinner in New York City. Since their friendship was announced all over social media, Braff said people are always asking him about hanging out with Styles. Donald Faison has to be jealous.

Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner

Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner are known to be two of America’s biggest sweethearts, so it’s no surprise that they’re best friends.

They’ve been friends for years and are seen all over together. From charity walks to Tiffany & Co events, these two have a lot in common.

Back in April, the two celebrated Garner’s 45th birthday together. Witherspoon posted a sweet picture with Garner on her Instagram, wishing her “gorgeous friend” a happy birthday.

Supposedly, the Big Little Lies star even tried to play matchmaker after Garner and her husband, Ben Affleck, split up in 2015.

There are also rumors that the two attend the same Pilates class and encourage each other to stay in shape. Everyone needs a best friend that helps them make healthy choices.

 Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire

The Great Gatsby stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire go way back. They have been friends since they met as kids at an audition in the 1980s. Both boys agreed they would help each other find parts, and clearly, they’ve kept their promise.

From competing for the same film roles to wild yacht parties, there’s nothing these two haven’t done together. During their teen years, they were part of a group called the P*ssy Posse, which included Kevin Connolly, David Blaine, and Lukas Haas.

They’ve formed a tight bond and give each other advice on their roles. During the filming of The Great Gatsby, they would talk to each other between takes about the best way to approach the scene.

DiCaprio is even the godfather to Ruby, one of Maguire’s children. Their 30 year friendship shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

 Will Smith and Tom Cruise

Will Smith and Tom Cruise are another pair of celebrity friends that are a bit weird and surprising. Although they have wildly different beliefs, particularly with Cruise being into Scientology, the two get along really well. Smith has denied the growing suspicion that he’s a Scientologist, saying he grew up as a Baptist.

The Suicide Squad actor has even defended Cruise’s beliefs, saying he’s a good guy and goodness is what really matters. The pair hang out together quite a bit, from going cheesy Los Angeles bars to playing games of hide and seek in Cruise’s home.

They each home school their kids and trade parenting tips. Cruise’s adopted son even played a young Smith in the film Seven Pounds. Celebrity dads have to stick together.

 Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart

Actresses Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart have starred in many films together, including the Twilight films and The Runaways, but they insist their friendship is based on more than their acting jobs. At the Elle’s Women in Hollywood Awards, the two made it clear they "love the f**k" out of each other.

Fanning told the audience that Kristen has always been there for her and she’s taught her to always be herself.

Kristen responded by saying that she loves Fanning and looks up to her. Each actress couldn’t stop gushing about the other. It’s always great to see women building each other up with so much support.

Just like any other pair of best friends, they do everything together. They cook for each other, make Target runs, and binge watch Duck Dynasty. Every girl wants a best friend like that.

 Stephen Amell and Jared Padalecki

Fans of the shows Arrow and Supernatural are probably familiar with this duo’s bromance. When CW stars Stephen Amell and Jared Padalecki aren’t too busy saving the world as their characters, they’re making hilarious jokes and raising money for charity together.

They’re both really supportive of each other’s charitable actions. Amell is the one who pushed Padalecki to create Always Keep Fighting t-shirts, which he sells to make money for various mental health organizations.

Not only do they encourage each other’s philanthropic endeavors, they also love to hang out and goof off. They drink wine, hang out at comic con, and tweet each other funny jokes.

Don’t worry, though, nobody can replace the bond between Padalecki and his Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles. All three actors get along well!

John Krasinski and Chris Pratt

John Krasinski and Chris Pratt both played fan-favorite characters on The Office and Parks and Recreation, so it shouldn’t be surprising that they’ve become friends. Pratt also starred in the film The Five Year Engagement with Emily Blunt, who is married to Krasinski.

While most best friends ask each other to grab lunch or go to a movie, Pratt and Krasinski do things a little differently. While they were both in the UK, they did a workout challenge together on Memorial Day to honor our armed forces and posted a video on Instagram.

Pratt also gives Krasinski fitness tips, like when he had to get in shape for his role in Amazon’s Jack Ryan series. Since Pratt had to bulk up for films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, he’s the perfect man to ask for advice.

 Helen Mirren and Russell Brand

Helen Mirren and Russell Brand certainly are a bizarre pair of friends. The two met while filming The Tempest in 2009 and were co-stars in the 2011 film Arthur.

Although there’s 30 year age gap, it doesn’t stop the pair from having a close relationship. Brand once told The Telegraph, “she is an incredible personality, very beautiful; ordinary when she needs to be, remarkable when required. I really love her and I respect her tremendously.” Mirren has called brand “a brilliant talent.”

In a more bizarre showing of affection, Brand once gifted Mirren a pair of his underwear. She said she would frame them and put them over her bed. Brand also once posted a photo where Mirren was giving him a bath. Friendship goals?

 Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz

Not many people can say that they’ve had the same best friend for over 20 years. Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz love each other so much you could even mistake the pair for sisters.

Their friendship includes cute nicknames, undying support, and a lot of fun. The encouragement the two women give to each other is uplifting.

Hayek even called Cruz her hero when asked about her Hollywood Heroines. They always give each other their honest opinions and share their love for each other with cute selfies on Instagram.

They only co-starred in one film together called Bandidas in 2006, but they were also on an episode of MTV’s Punk’d. Hayek was tricked by her bestie with a clogged toilet and a fake restaurant manager. Are you really best friends if you can’t prank each other?

 Jon Hamm and Paul Rudd

Ant-Man and Don Draper, friends? It sounds weird, but it’s true. The two knew each other back in college.

On Late Night With Seth Meyers, Paul Rudd explained that he and Jon Hamm actually liked the same girl and were romantic rivals. The pair battled for dominance over a game of Trivial Pursuit. They also hung out with actor Adam Scott and sportscaster Joe Buck.

After Hamm saw Rudd star in Clueless, the Mad Men star felt inspired to move to Los Angeles and pursue acting there. He stayed with Rudd for a little while in his supposedly “terrible” apartment. The two have been friends ever since.

The past is definitely behind them. When they aren’t acting on screen, the two are out together at bars, sports games, and conduct funny interviews together.

Connie Britton and Lauren Graham

Before playing two of the most iconic mothers on television, Connie Britton and Lauren Graham were the greatest roommates ever. The two lived together as squatters in an empty house.

They attended the same acting class and both decided to move to Los Angeles. Britton’s friend was going through a divorce and had an empty house they could live in. The Nashville actress said she has some fond memories of living with Graham.

Graham has posted throwback tweets and pictures to commemorate their friendship and past adventures. In an interview with Andy Cohen, the Gilmore Girls star said that all they used to eat were ice Krispies treats and that Britton would always leave dishes in the sink. It sounds too relatable to any other young person with a roommate.

 Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello

People may know Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello as co-stars in Magic Mike, but their relationship goes back farther than that.

They’ve been friends for years and attended the same drama school. Manganiello also guest starred in an episode of Bomer’s television show, White Collar.

They’ve both joked about how their higher education payed off for their roles as strippers. Manganiello loves to brag about his friends pipes, telling everyone that Bomer has a great singing voice. Bomer loved laughing about the dance scenes the True Blood star had to film in Magic Mike.

Just like you’d expect from two college buddies, they teamed up to prank their co-star Jada Pinkett Smith, which ended in Bomer giving her a lapdance. The two guys always have a lot of fun together.

 Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams

Game of Thrones stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams have an adorable friendship. They play sisters on screen and act like sisters in real life. They’ve been close since their first audition together.

From doing their own "Carpool Karaoke" to getting matching tattoos, these girls define friendship goals. Known as “Mophie,” fans can’t get enough of the love these two share for each other. They constantly show support for one another and give similar answers about each other in interviews, gushing about their characters Arya and Sansa Stark.

Recently, Turner posted a photo of her and Williams wearing matching Halloween costumes to  commemorate the day they found out they got their roles on the HBO drama.

The date is so special to their friendship that they each have it tattooed on their forearms. Their friendship is too cute.
