It’s often easy to mix up actors and actresses. There’s so many beautiful famous people out there that many of them are bound to look at least a little bit alike. If you’ve only seen them in a couple episodes of TV or a movie, it’s even simpler to accidentally mistake one for another. However, if you look closer, most of them do actually look at least a little bit different from each other when you get to know them— but not all of them.
Some actors and actresses happen to have fellows in the industry who are basically their identical twin. It’s confusing how people could look so much alike and not be related, but there are many pairs of actors and actresses out there who are proving that doppelgangers are a very real thing.
Here are 15 sets of actors and actresses who are mirror images of each other.
15. Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones
Josh Brolin of Goonies, No Country for Old Men and W. fame, looks like the spitting image of a younger Tommy Lee Jones, who is best known for also being in No Country for Old Men, Lincoln, JFK and his starring role in the Men in Black series. Brolin proved this resemblance by played a young Jones in Men in Black III, which was the first time that many people were alerted to how strikingly similar the two actors look.
Brolin did a spot-on Jones impression, playing the younger version of his character Agent K, nailing the character’s looks, mannerisms and even voice. Of course, fans were crushed when it was revealed that Jones wasn’t actually a huge fan of Brolin’s impression, but that doesn’t mean that it wasn’t perfect for the rest of us. The two could easily be father and son, with the same intense eyes, striking cheekbones and strong eyebrows.
14. Henry Cavill and Matt Bomer
Henry Cavill and Matt Bomer are both basically perfect, which means that it makes sense that they look like the same, perfectly chiseled person. The Man of Steel and White Collar stars have the same dark hair, blue eyes, and incredible cheekbones. Although Cavill usually wears his hair more side swept like his famous character and Bomer likes to stick his straight up, the two could easily pass for twins.
But there are slight differences between the two. Cavill, who got his start starring on the raunchy Showtime drama The Tudors, hails from Britain, although he tends to hide his beautiful accent in his most known role as Superman. Bomer, meanwhile, is your typical American, born in Missouri and raised in Texas. People may be surprised that, like his look-alike, Bomer has also taken his turn wearing the Superman cape, voicing the famous character in the 2013 animated film Superman: Unbound.
13. Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard
Redheads often find themselves getting unfairly confused for other redheads, but with Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard, it may be fair to get mixed up. The two actresses are both gorgeous, with striking red hair, blue-green eyes, and beautiful smiles, which makes it easy to confuse them. They have even appeared in a film together, the Oscar-nominated The Help, playing two very different characters (Howard as an uptight, racist socialite and Chastain as the bubbly neighbor trying to fit in) but luckily had different hair colors.
Chastain and Howard have poked fun at their resemblance, with Chastain posting a Tweet of the two talking to each other, with her saying “People still think we are the same person?!?!” and Howard responding “IKR!” Howard responded by posting a video to Chastain’s Facebook lip syncing to a song with the lyrics, “But it’s time I put an end to the confusion. I am not Jessica Chastain.”
12. Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Javier Bardem
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Javier Bardem are basically the same person, or at least, that’s what we’re convinced. The two gruff actors have very similar faces and facial hair, which makes them basically look like the same very angry yet still adorable person.

She’s also won Golden Globes for her performances in Big Eyes and American Hustle.

He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his appearance in Kate & Leopold and has won a Tony for his role in The Boy from Oz and has been a four time host of the theater awards ceremony. Outside of theater, Jackman has appeared in the X-Men films, Van Helsing, The Prestige and Australia.

Another pair of teen stars who look very similar, heartthrobs Logan Lerman and Dylan Minnette bear a striking brunet, blue-eyed resemblance to each other. The two could easily be mixed up, and they’ve even followed a similar career path. Both started at a youn age— Lerman at age eight and Minnette at age nine.
Lerman got his start in serious fare, first appearing in The Patriot, while Minnette started out on an episode of Drake & Josh before moving into drama with appearances on Prison Break. Both have appeared as the stars of movie adaptations of famous children’s books, with Lerman appearing in the Percy Jackson films and Minnette appearing in the recent Goosebumps movie. Both Dobrev and Justice show off their great cheekbones, gorgeous hair, and beautiful, big eyes in their roles, and, although Justice’s cheekbones are a little more defined, making her face look a bit harsher, the two still look like they could easily be sisters or even twins.
Both actresses got their start on teen shows, with Dobrev appearing as young mother Mia Jones on Teen Nick’s Degrassi: The Next Generation in her native Canada and Justice appearing on Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 before landing her own series on the kid’s network in Victorious. Justice has, at numerous points in her career, shown off her great singing voice, singing on Victorious, the upcoming Rocky Horror Picture Show remake on FOX, and in her own music. Dobrev has stuck mostly with acting, appearing in a starring role on The Vampire Diaries and also popping up in films like The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Let’s Be Cops, The Final Girls, and the upcoming Flatliners remake.
6. Sebastian Stan and Mark Hamill
The Winter Soldier and Luke Skywalker don’t have much in common, but they do look quite a lot alike. Although Sebastian Stan is quite a bit younger than Mark Hamill, the two franchise anchors look pretty much exactly the same. They’ve even joked over social media about Luke being Bucky’s father.
Stan started out on The CW’s Gossip Girl and appeared in Black Swan before landing his role of Bucky Barnes in the Captain America and Avengers films. Stan is also well known for appearances on Political Animals, Once Upon a Time, and The Martian.

4. Tom Hardy and Logan Marshall-Green
Tough guys Tom Hardy and Logan Marshall-Green must be the same person just tricking all of us, since that’s the only explanation for how alike the two look aside from them being identical twins. The identical twin theory is unlikely but still possible—Marshall-Green was born in 1976 in South Carolina, while Hardy was born in 1977 in London, but that doesn’t mean there couldn’t be some sort of Parent Trap trickery going on here.
Hardy is known for his appearances in Inception, Star Trek: Nemesis, Mad Max: Fury Road, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Locke, Legend, The Dark Knight Rises, Warrior, Peaky Blinders, and This Means War. He also recently earned an Oscar nomination for his appearance in The Revenant, the film which earned Leonardo DiCaprio his first Oscar win in his long career and pacified Tumblr fan girls everywhere.

2. Ben McKenzie and Russell Crowe
Gotham star Ben McKenzie looks so much like a younger version of Les Miserables star Russell Crowe that it was even brought up as a joke in McKenzie’s first starring role on teen show The O.C., with his girlfriend Marissa saying that Russell Crowe “never did it for me.” The two do bear a striking resemblance to each other, with the same rugged handsomeness that has allowed them to play mysterious yet endearing characters for so many years.
McKenzie, who is currently starring as Commissioner Gordon on FOX’s Gotham, has appeared mostly on TV shows, with another non-O.C. starring role on TNT crime drama Southland. Crowe, meanwhile, has had a long career in the film industry, with the Australian actor starring in films like A Beautiful Mind, L.A. Confidential, Cinderella Man, American Gangster, Robin Hood, Man of Steel, and more. Crowe hasn’t commented publicly on the resemblance, but McKenzie is aware of it, saying, “I’m glad to be compared to him and not Carrot Top.” Same, Ben, same.
1. Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley’s striking resemblance to each other has been long documented, with Knightley’s first role highlighting just how much the two looked alike. Knightley made one of her first film industry appearance as Sabe in Star Wars: Episode 1– The Phantom Menace, the handmaid of Natalie Portman’s Queen Amidala who is tasked with acting as her body double. The two looked so much alike that it was easy to pull off the switch, and even their mothers couldn’t tell them apart when they were in make-up.
Knightley has since gone on to have her own very successful, non-Natalie Portman-dubbed career, appearing in films like Bend It Like Beckham, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Pride & Prejudice, Anna Karenina, King Arthur, Never Let Me Go, The Imitation Game, The Duchess, A Dangerous Method, Love Actually, and more.
