X-Men Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer announced two months ago that Evan Peters (American Horror Story) is playing the speedy mutant Quicksilver, son of Magneto, in his film that will be unveiled to fans this afternoon for the first time. Not long after this casting news, a report suggested that Joss Whedon and Marvel Studios were looking at Aaron Taylor-Johnson to play that same character in The Avengers 2. Could we see two Quicksilvers today during the Fox and Marvel Studios Comic-Con 2013 panels?

MTV chatted with Aaron Taylor-Johnson during Comic-Con for Kick-Ass 2 and directly asked the actor on what's going on with Quicksilver in The Avengers 2 and he didn't even attempt to deny it, coming off with a tone that he's in talks or perhaps even confirmed for the role.

"Oh, that's um, I don't think I can talk about that, but it's definitely an exciting prospect..."

He continues, after being asked if he's been reading up on the character:

"Yeah, it really is. [QuickSilver] has a really interesting character and background. In fact, my wife has just been out and bought the first ever cover, a really really old vintage one where it's the first time Quicksilver's ever been on the front cover."

With the Marvel Studios panel taking place later today, rounding out what some are already expecting to be a day that will fight for the label as biggest day of movie panels ever at San Diego Comic-Con, some rumors point towards the unveiling of the full cast for The Avengers 2 appearing on stage. Such an event would be essentially a repeat of 2010 where Captain America and Thor shared the stage as well and the cast of the first team-up came out together for the unveiling. The difference is that this time, fans know most of the characters and and it would seem a wasted opportunity two years out from release with so much mystery surrounding Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy.

We do know Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are a part of the film and it seems that Aaron Taylor-Johnson may already have the role of Pietro. As for Scarlet Witch, there've been no such reports outside of the one rumor that Saoirse Ronan was the actress the studio was using as a  concept for the character of Wanda (Scarlet Witch).
