In that spirit, the staff at Screen Rant would like to wish you and yours a happy holiday season with a Quentin Tarantino movie mashup, but with a decidedly yuletide spin.
We combed through the Tarantino catalog and included clips from our favorite scenes. Check out the full list of films featured in our video, here:
- Reservoir Dogs
- Pulp Fiction
- Jackie Brown
- Kill Bill
- Death Proof
- Inglourious Basterds
- Django Unchained
As for Django Unchained, the script seemed to leak within seconds of the iconoclastic writer/director typing Fade Out, but nevertheless, the anticipation for this pre-civil war revenge epic is high. After the cool reception to Tarantino’s stab at a slasher flick, Death Proof (which he freely admits is the worst of his films), he returned to form with the superb and long-gestating Inglourious Basterds in 2009. That film took in $320 million worldwide and won relative unknown Christoph Waltz an Oscar for what is arguably one of the most wonderfully, dastardly screen villains of all time.
Waltz returns to the Tarantino fold in Django Unchained as bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz who takes Jamie Foxx's Django under his wing and transforms him from a slave into a dead shot with a serious grudge. Another familiar face is Tarantino staple Samuel L. Jackson who, if the script is any indication, may have landed one of his most compelling roles to date.
It will be interesting to see if the controversial nature of the film will deter filmgoers or draw them in. As always, expect unexpected music cues, memorable dialogue, filthy language and the requisite Tarantino-style violence. And it all happens on Christmas day. Stay tuned for our review of the film.
