Count me so in! This looks like a high concept 80’s/90’s action thriller rather than a dull 00’s CGI fest.

ogb says:

Looks great. I personally enjoy these types of horror movies where suspense and build up are as much of the formula as the action scenes.

The cast is full of very underrated actors. Steve Zahn, Milla, and Timothy are all great great actors and more than that they’re always very enjoyable on screen.

Daniel F says:

Not even close to being excited about GI Joe looks like garbage.

Anyway I’m unsure about this film to be honest. The writer did the Fugitive which is cool but the rest of those were not so good. However, I’m a big Steve Zahn fan the guy is a talented actor and has brilliant comedic timing. One of the most underrated comedic actors in the industry as far as I’m concerned.

SK-47 says:

Ive always been a fan of Zahn, he is a quality actor.
This looks like the Ruins to me, not in the same type of genre or whatever, but the fact that when I saw trailers for The Ruins I thought it was some generic horror film like the rest but was really surprised by it.
Same effect might work here.

Phil says:

I’m not excited about G.I.Joes: Rise of Cobra either, not after seeing the trailers.

This movie looks nice enough that I’ll probably give it a shot.

And I have to admit that I feel a lot better about Hemsworth as Thor after seeing this trailer. I didn’t realize he was so buff.

Evie says:

@ Daniel F: You didn’t like Pitch Black?? It is one of my favorite scary movies!

This looks like it will be good, I am definitely going to go see it.

Daniel F says:

Not really Evie

ogb says:

Pitch Black is a great great movie. The atmosphere created in the first few minutes is great (suspenseful and scary).

What’s more impressive is the shoe string budget it was made on.

Daniel F says:

I thought PItch Black was very boring and riddled with Terrible acting.

Evie says:

You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I am not going to say anything other than: you sure you don’t mean ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’? (baaad movie) :D

Daniel F says:

No I mean Pitch Black, but Chronicles was even worse.

Andy S says:

To me this doesn’t look like a horror movie, but a good, suspenseful, thriller. Big difference in my eyes. Horror these days I think of crap like Saw and The Devils Rejects. Gorefests that look more to gross you out than to scare you. THIS film looks like it’s gonna grab you and not let go. Not sure my GF will see it with me, but it looks like a movie I wouldn’t mind plopping $9 on!

Andy S says:

BTW, I thought Pitch Black was awesome. To each their own.

Phil says:

Liked Pitch Black as well.

Agreed with you Andy S, more of a thriller I think.

Reader says:

Looks like a good thriller. Will watch anything with Zahn.

I consider Pitch Black a “guilty pleasure” movie – I know it’s not very good, but I still enjoy watching it.

dudelove says:

Actually that’s more my view of Chronicles of Riddick, I like Pitch Black, it’s got an original concept, a unique visual style and an interesting anti-hero lead character.

Daniel F says:

We all have our Guilty Pleasures Vic it happens to the best of us. The point is being able to admit it’s not technically a great movie we just enjoy it anyway.

Manowar says:

I accidently saw a spoiler about the films ending on another site by someone who had a script copy. I’m so pissed that I did, I just ruined the movie now for myself :(

yes, there is a twist…

Evie says:

Thanks for letting us know? So we’ll be looking for it? Guess misery loves company.

MAKsys says:

If you don’t like Pitch Black, I feel bad for you. :(

Say what you want about ‘Chronicles’, but I find myself watching it everytime its re-run on TNT :)

ny jean says:

I have only seen the trailers for this, but it seems obvious and doomed for the movie rental rack. I’ve bet my teen boys a sawbuck that Milla and Steve Zahn are the killers, and one of them dies and the other either a: ends up with a surviving spouse who he/she will then school in killing or b: Milla or Steve dies and thats the end. Of course the poor audience will hear all kinds of Oprah-fied claptrap excuses for the **damage** that created such heinous killers. Blech!

Seriously… Who over the age of 20 pays to watch this stuff? Watch Hitchcock or Das Boot for true suspense!

I’m going to enjoy the lobster roll I buy with that $20…..
