I think a Freddy remake is just what everyone needs. Why don’t they remake Freddy vs. Jason too, maybe they could cast Warwick Davis (The Leprachaun) to play Jason. What a real waste of money & time for the Freddy fans.

This for me is a treat. I may be young but I grew up off “Freddy.” These classic movies are apart of the few memories I have while spending time with my father. I can truely say I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for this movie to drop! I have been wondering why noone has remade this movie. And even though it is said the original is always the best, I am sure my spending money,will be worth it.

ok, Freddie is more than a sweater and a glove. He was Robert England. Unlike Jason and Micheal Myers they had a mask and didn’t talk. They can be played by anyone. Freddie has a face and a voice. I’m going to have a hard time swallowing this one.

Generally I don’t like remakes,or seguels especially of films that are great.

But this trailer looks good and I like the idea that they are expanding on “freddy’s character” was he? or wasn’t he? I hope it works in the film.

Are the parent’s right to burn Freddy alive because he was molesting the towns children? doesn’t matter Revenge? Who’s Revenge? the parent’s, freddy’s, the children’s…..and it continues more horrific then the next and that’s the key element in the orginial “Nightmare on Elm Street”

Revenge and retaliation being a downward spiral of horror is director Wes Craven specialty….in all his previous films it’s the common trend “Last House on the Left” and “The Hills Have Eyes”. and nobody crafts it better it makes him stand out above all other horror directors and made his films original.

How or Why duplicate a Master?

I actually think this movie might not be too bad. The trailer looked nice, but then again, I thought the teaser for FRIDAY THE 13TH looked nice as well. Hopefully, this movie is better than FRIDAY THE 13TH. I think Jackie Earle Haley is a great actor, and if anyone were to fill Robert Englund’s shoes of Freddy Kruegger, then it’s him.

The major concern I have with this reboot is that I read (on here, I believe) that they would be doing away with the comic effect that the original series had. That’s one of the reasons the originals are so popular and what really made Freddy iconic, not just that he’s a creepy guy that haunts your dreams with a razor-sharp glove, but that he’s a wisecracking smart aleck. If they remove that characteristic of Freddy, I think fans will be disappointed with this reboot.

I don’t know it looks pretty weak. The make-up is lame and the voice just isn’t evil enough. You can’t replace Robert Englund, it just isn’t right. I’ll wait for DVD for this one.

Well… although I am very excited there is another Freddy movie out. I absolutely love the whole Freddy thing… love it. But I am very afraid. Freddy is Freddy and any change in voice or looks just won’t feel genuine. I mean, his head is too big and his shoulders too scrawny, don’t see the menacing strength. And if they take out the humor, man, that’s some of the best. Thats probably what makes the difference between a regular slasher and Freddy. We love him. It looks well put together and should be scary. Sooo well see.

I just got the chance to view the trailer, actually, I never knew that there was going to be a remade version. Anywho, I am a very big fan of the horror genre, and I am an extremely hard critic to impress . I don’t really know if this will be one of the movies I’ll pay to see in 2010. However if I decide to, I better be damn well impressed.If there’s one thing that I can’t stand,as well as other movie goers.It’s wasting money on a corny film. I did this once with The Village, and i’m still made til this day about it.I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Little Children is a FANTASTIC movie: Brilliantly acted, written and directed with a handle of tone rarely matched in a movie of its type from the last decade or so.

I never actually thought about the fact that Haley’s playing a child molester again here as we he was in LC (although in the latter, he “exposed” himself and didn’t molest, if you want to get technical. That was one of the points of the film). Still doesn’t bother me, as here he’s portraying much MORE than that (it’s an iconic character, for one).
