Kim Menzies took to Instagram to share that her mother Sally, who featured on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 with her has passed away. The 50-year-old Kim stars on the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off with Usman Umar, 32, who she met as a fan via DM. Eleven months later, Kim wanted to give a relationship with Usman a try, which is why she’s currently on his music video set with him in Tanzania in the show’s timeline. While fans think Kim should have thought twice before getting involved with Usman, who was a part of an earlier season with his ex-wife Lisa Hamme, Kim’s mom Sally supported her daughter’s decision and wished her well.
Kim has admitted that she loves Usman but he doesn’t know if he wants to be in a relationship with an older, American woman again. But Kim has sacrificed a lot to go to Zanzibar to spend three weeks with a man who thinks of her as a “potential” girlfriend. For starters, Kim had introduced herself as her mom Sally’s primary caregiver. San Diego native Kim stayed alone with her mom who had rheumatoid arthritis in her hips, which had left Sally immobile. “My mother is my best friend. I love her to death,” Kim, had confessed during her 90 Day Fiancé debut. She wasn’t afraid to admit that she’d lay down on the street for her mom. Kim felt guilty that she was leaving her mom alone at home even though a close family friend was going to look after Sally then.
Meanwhile, Sally had become an instant fan favorite for her honesty and humor. “I just hope this all is good for you. Because if it isn’t, I’ll go… I’ll find him, and I’ll beat the crap out of him,” Kim’s mom had warned her on episode 1. On Tuesday, Kim announced that she’d lost her mommy in a heartfelt Instagram post. In it, Kim told her 90 Day Fiancé fans, “My mom passed away last night. No one will ever understand how close her and I were." She shared several sweet photos of herself with Sally and wrote that her mom was her #1 supporter besides being her best friend. “I will miss you for the rest of my life but I know you will always be with me and in my heart. I love you Mommy. 💔❤️” Kim added in her emotional message.
Meanwhile, Usman also used Instagram to share a photo of him waving to Sally on a video call. He wrote, “R.I.P MOM 💔 🕊️ 🕯️ 🙏🏾 and tagged Kim in his story. Many 90 Day Fiancé co-stars of Kim left their condolences for her mom under her IG update. “Sooooo sorry! Our hearts goes out to you. ❤️,” posted Kenneth Niedermeier. Meanwhile, Kim’s friends Jasmine Pineda and Memphis Sandoval also wrote, “So sorry for your loss my Kim ❤️” and “Keep your head up Kim your mother will still be watching over you as you continue your journey!” for their lovely cast member.
The humble Kim told her well-wishers in the comments that she wouldn’t be able to “answer every phone call or message at this time.” However, Kim thanked them all for their “words, prayers and thoughts. ❤️❤️❤️” Fans had found the bond between Kim and Sally to be strong, which makes it a difficult road ahead for Kim. Some feel terrible that Kim has to go through the pain while 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days is airing. While this time in Kim’s life is trying, fans hope she will get through this with the help of her son Jamal and Sojaboy.
