While 90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem is busy with her weight loss, husband Michael Ilesanmi’s family is judging her by her surgery cost. Although Michael and his family had made their demand for a baby quite apparent from the start, Angela focused on becoming a better wife than a mom. At 55, Angela wished to look younger for her oko mi Michael, which was one of the main reasons she lost 100 pounds. But each week of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? shows Michael getting more and more unhappy with Angie, with episode six having Aunt Lydia screaming over the price of her plastic surgery.

During her introduction to the world of 90 Day Fiancé, Angela was already 52, with grown-up daughters and six grandkids. Over the course of her relationship with Michael, the topic of kids was a focal point. But with 90 Day Fiancé's Angela’s ovaries shrinking, she was left with no eggs. Furthermore, it was also suspected that Angela had cancerous cells on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 5. But the results thankfully said Angela was cancer-free and didn’t need to remove her uterus. Even then, Michael’s reaction to the news was odd. “Is losing me worth having a baby?” Angela asked herself.

Even the decision to have gastric bypass surgery was taken by 90 Day Fiancé star Angela when she caught herself losing breath. Her increasing weight was taking a toll on Angela when she decided to live more years for her grandkids and Michael by undergoing the risky procedures instead. However, Michael, who’s not showing any support to her either way, was seen complaining to Aunt Lydia about Angela’s facelift in episode six. During the scene, she commented, “Angela is very selfish.” Aunt Lydia further spoke of Angela ruining her marriage with Michael because she “likes doing whatever she wants to do,” owing to the age difference. Furthermore, Aunt Lydia screamed upon learning that Angela’s facelift cost $25,000, which is $11.5 million in Nigerian Naira,  as another of the 90 Day Fiancé celeb’s family members asked, “What does she think you need more, a baby or a facelift?” Upon watching the scene, fans claimed they were equally shocked to hear the facelift fees, and some insisted that Michael is hanging on to false hope about having kids. A fan also expressed their doubt at Michael ever making it to America and advised him to settle down in Lagos with a woman closer to his age.

TLC viewers also dragged Michael for sharing everything going on in his marriage with his family members and how it was him starting extra drama, as someone else asked, “I mean, isn't it her money? Why are people outraged?” Fans objected to Aunt Lydia saying that “men call the shots” in their culture and also mocked her for discussing the cost of Angela’s surgery “as if the money is coming out of their pockets.” Still, a majority of fans think it’s 90 Day Fiancé paying for Angela’s surgery and that it’s either TLC or sponsorships that are footing the bill. Moreover, 90 Day Fiancé's Angela herself declared in an earlier episode that Michael having “the audacity” to think that she’s saved up her money to have a baby and not work on herself is “totally absurd” at best.
