I agree that pretty much everyone is expendable on the show (except for Jack), but the way in which they portrayed the “death” of Tony seemed like a really obvious misdirection to me.

My wife thought that having Tony “die” set up a possible Romeo and Juliet ending for Michelle. After killing Jack’s wife, anything is possible for this show.

I enjoyed this season as well. Especially Mandy, the ultra-hot assassin from the last few eps.

And I agree, the scenarios Jack Bauer seems to happen into do get more and more ridiculous as the seasons go on. 24 episodes is a lot of TV, especially for a series that is attempting to be real-time. I can’t imagine a better written, more entertaining show of the same “genre”. Although, a version of West Wing 24 style might be interesting.
