Tonight may mark the 85th Academy Award ceremony. However, while Hollywood is suiting up to celebrate such critically lauded films as Argo and Silver Linings Playbook, The Golden Raspberry Awards (or Razzies, for short) continue their long-standing tradition of recognizing the very worst cinematic experiences the world has endured in the past 12 months.

Now this year's crop of "winners" has been announced via the official Razzies website. Box office titan The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 has emerged as the overall victor, with a total of seven awards, including Worst Picture, Director and Actress for Kristen Stewart (who also received the win for her performance in Snow White and the Huntsman).

Twilight co-star Taylor Lautner also received the Worst Supporting Actor title for his role and was named Worst Screen Couple alongside Mackenzie Foy.

Adam Sandler in 'That's My Boy'

Other "winners" include Adam Sandler as Worst Actor for That's My Boy (the film picked up the Worst Screenplay) and Rihanna as Worst Supporting Actress for Battleship. Last year, Sandler swept all ten Razzie categories with the much-maligned Jack & Jill, in which the actor played both the male and female leads.

There's no denying that many of the nominated films this year were ill-received by audiences and critics alike (looking at you, A Thousand Words), but while Breaking Dawn – Part 2 proved just as divisive as other entries in the franchise, the film is the sole box office champ among the nominees.

Domestically, the film earned $292 million and received a middling (if not favorable) review on our own site. However, its win here puts it in dubious company with big screen disasters like Battlefield Earth, Gigli and The Love Guru. Sure, Twilight may not be everyone's cup of tea, but is it really worthy of such infamy?

We turn to you, Screen Rant readers. Do you think the Twilight finale is deserving of all the dubious "honors," or is there a worse film that the Razzies snubbed? Let us know your picks for the worst films of 2012 in the comments section below.
