The TV finale season is upon us! With over 70 television season finales airing during the month of May, bidding a summer farewell to your favorite television series may not be as easy as you think. Fortunately, we’ve attempted to take much of the hassle out of your upcoming viewing by creating a complete schedule for the May season finales.

Beginning slow with Impractical Jokers, Last Man Standing and In Plain Sight finales, the true viewing madness of May doesn’t start until the second week of the month, with New Girl, The Big Bang Theory, Fringe, as well as 16 other finales.

Continuing into the third week of May: the most television finale-packed time of the entire month presents 33 season finales for your viewing pleasure (or scheduling nightmare), including Bones, How I Met Your Mother, NCIS, Awake and many (many) others.

Wrapping up the month of May with only 19 separate season finales, Glee, Dancing with the Stars, Revenge, and Community help round out the end of another television year.

Like with most television finale seasons, much attention will be paid to the series saying their final farewells this year. With In Plain Sight, Desperate Housewives and House all set to end in May, it certainly represents the departure of some of television’s most favored series over the last few years. Combined, the three ending series amount to an amazing 418 hours of television during their time on the air.

  1. Anthony, any word of Awake being cancelled or renewed??

    • You’ll hear something about Awake within the next couples of weeks. The ratings haven’t been great at all. I would say that if the series was in the 4 million viewer range that maybe the producers can talk their way into season 2… but Awake is currently a little over 2 million.

  2. What about Saving Hope on CTV and NBC on June 7th @ 10:00…What are you blind or what:)

    • This is for TV finales, not previews. Way to crowbar in Canadian television though. ;-)

    • agre I love awake I loOk forward to it every week. Great show if they end it I want my questions answered.

  3. When are they going to put CSI out of its misery?

    • Haha… After it stops making (alot of) money.

  4. I will really miss In Plain Sight a lot. I rarely watch USA network original 1 hour shows, but this one was well done in many ways. I really enjoyed it and I hope it gets a proper send-off.

Although House is no longer seen by me, not since, oh, 2007 or 8, I will watch the finale because it was a funny show and serious at times for me.

The Housewives were never the same when Edie was gone, but it’s had it’s moments lately and I will watch the finale.

With Pan Am being done and from what I had read about GCB being on the bubble, who is going to follow the goodness that is Once Upon A Time?

  5. Thanks Anthony!
I can’t wait for the series finale of HIMYM – I’m a huge fan.

    • It’s gonna be legen…wait for it…

    • I too love the show, but it’s starting to jump the shark. Barney with a stripper GF?! If anyone should know about not dating a stripper, it should be Barney. In fact, I really don’t like that they(starting with him dating Robyn) have Barney in serious relationships at all. Lilly and Marshall are having a kid, none of them live together anymore, etc. etc.. And they really need to give up on the whole Robyn and Ted thing. We already know they don’t end up together in the end. I think this show has 1, maybe 2 seasons left at most.

      • Sadly, I agree.
But still, we don’t know for sure if Barney will end up with the stripper (can’t remember her because, frankly… I don’t care much for her). If he does end up marrying her though, then I’ll be very disappointed.
Marshall and Lily: I have to say, I’m liking how things are ending up for them (they remind me of my parents, so they’re some of my favorite characters).
Ted and Robin: I’m bored with that dragged out relationship. We all know they won’t end up together, so why bother going through it all again?

Still, the creators have it all planned out, so I still have faith in the series (I do think it’s nearing the finale though: it seems that Ted’s first kid will be born by 2015, so I agree, if the show ends with Ted meeting “the one” then the show is nearing it’s last two seasons).

P.S. Sorry for replying so late.

  6. While I’m a huge fan of House, I’ll be glad to see it end. This season has rambled and not had any real purpose behind it. We’ll miss the doctor.

Seeing all of these on paper here make me kind of sad. There are a bunch of shows here that I love and will miss until next fall or spring 2013.

I really hope we have something decent to watch this summer other than game shows and reruns.

  7. “Monday, May 1st.”

Um, today is a Tuesday, not a Monday. =)

    • Fixed, thanks.

      • You’re welcome!

  8. FYI, you got Community and Awake wrong. NBC is airing the last 3 episodes of Community on May 17th, and pushing the Awake finale back to May 24.

  9. Umm, I don’t see the finale date for Touch on here. Hope it comes back as it’s quite unique.

  10. Why hasn’t anything been said about the cancelation of “The Firm?” Really good show, and NBC axed it before it could gather an audience. What a shame. I really looked forward to seeing it. No wonder cable has better luck with their series!
