Hellcats green rate Fall TV 2010: New Shows Preview & Premiere Dates

hell cats 2010 fall television preview Fall TV 2010: New Shows Preview & Premiere Dates

Premieres: Wednesday, September 8, 9:00pm

Plot (courtesy of The CW): HELLCATS is a coming-of-age story about Marti Perkins, a young, pre-law student at Lancer University in Memphis, Tennessee. Marti is cool, hip and alt, but her world flips upside down, literally and figuratively, when she loses her scholarship, and realizes the only way she can stay in school is by reigniting her dormant teen gymnastic skills to win a place on Lancer’s legendary cheerleading team, The Hellcats. Against her every instinct, Marti goes for it and makes the squad, and is thrust into a world of camaraderie, backstabbing and the intersection of sports, backroom academia and big money. Marti’s new roommate, Savannah Monroe, a petite, peppy Texan, is among the diverse cast of athletes, undergrads, family and friends, all set on the sprawling campus of a powerhouse college football program in the deep South.

Mini Review: While Hellcats isn’t for everyone, this series is much more than just cheerleaders jumping around. The strong characters, interesting sub-plots and entertaining choreography will surely keep the intended audience of this series entertained. That being said, if you ever find yourself watching Hellcats, don’t be surprised if you come away a fan.

Nikita yellow rate Fall TV 2010: New Shows Preview & Premiere Dates

nikita 2010 fall television preview Fall TV 2010: New Shows Preview & Premiere Dates

Premieres: Thursday, September 9, 9:00pm

Plot (courtesy of The CW): When she was a deeply troubled teenager, Nikita was rescued from death row by a secret U.S. agency known only as Division, who faked her execution and told her she was being given a second chance to start a new life and serve her country. What they didn’t tell her was that she was being trained as a spy and assassin. Ultimately, Nikita was betrayed and her dreams shattered by the only people she thought she could trust. Now, after three years in hiding, Nikita is seeking retribution and making it clear to her former bosses that she will stop at nothing to expose and destroy their covert operation. For the time being, however, Division continues to recruit and train other young people, erasing all evidence of their former lives and turning them into cold and efficient killers. One of these new recruits, Alex, is just beginning to understand what lies ahead for her and why the legendary Nikita made the desperate decision to run.

Mini Review: With numerous iterations of La Femme Nikita to compare it to, the solid execution of this series serves to set itself apart from its predecessors. Unfortunately, some viewers might not make it through the pilot’s split-storyline and awkward telling of Nikita’s back-story.

  1. Looking forward to No Ordinary Family. Event sounds cool too!!! There sure is a whole lot of green dotted shows on this list though. Not sure if I can make all those lol :)

  2. Was Running Wilde really that bad? Arrested Development was amazing. What a let down.

    • i liked it.. terrible supporting cast in the main female character and the 12 year old is plain boring too. but will is right on the money

  3. Yur positive review of The Event is the only thing that may get me to watch it.
As for the rest I will try to check out Most Of ABCs new lineup ,
Although Right now I am leaning toward The Defenders as my new wenesday at 10pm show .
The Whole Truth seems shaky to me.
Nikita interests me, butI already feel those continuity issues your talking about.
Its all ovr the commercials “6 years ago I was abducted,”3 years ago I got out”.
All in all, a spot on review of the season to come.

  4. no Event for me, sorry. as for wednesday nights 10PM..Terriers takes that slot up for me.

  5. Great review of “Raising Hope” (best new show!!!).

It made me forget I was going to rip you one giving Shatners show a red light, and for green lighting the Hellcats,,,
    :-)

  6. No Ordinary Family – Been looking forward to this for awhile.

The Whole Truth – Based on your review I’ll give it a shot

Blue Bloods – Based on your review I’ll give it a shot

The Defenders – Same as above

The Event – Been annoyed out of my mind with previews, but I’ll admit they peeked my interest a little. I was on the fence, but with the positive review I’ll check it out.

Outsourced – Been looking forward to this

Lone Star – Been on the fence I’ll give it a shot now though.

Raising Hope – Been really looking forward to this show. The cast is hard to look at not trying to be mean it’s better than super models being cast. The show has looked hilarious for a long time. Waiting for it.

Terriers – Crap just relized I missed the premier as soon as I saw your review and noticed the air date I cursed my self for forgetting to DVR it been planning to see it for weeks. Just opened guide and set the 1am showing to record.

    Thanks for the preview

  7. The Defenders looks the most interesting here, will watch that for sure.

As giving the Shat’s new show a red light! Boo! Everything he does is great!

    • Drsam just got done watching Terriers it’s great. Very good show. I honestly loved every minute of it. Highly recommended.

      • I’ll give it a try then. It’s not a show I’ve heard anything about other than reading this article.

      • its filmed in san diego daniel, of course its a good show :)

  8. If I were doing this list, I say ‘skip everything’ except for “Smallville”, “V”, and “Supernatural”.

“Nikita’s” main star looks too ugly, thin, and old. I will not bother to try.

“Hawaii Five-0″ reminds me of my grandfather’s generation, so I will end up skipping that series. I will not bother to try.

“Lone Star” reminds me of my parent’s obsession with “Dallas”, so I will skip that show entirely.

Majority of the NEW series plainly stink. Yawn. Looks like Fridays and Tuesdays are the only days I will watch tv.

    • Why does Hawaii Five-0 remind you of you Grandfather’s generation? I don’t get it.

      • When I was around 5 years old in 1981, my grandparents use to watch “Hawaii Five-O” all the time. It made me cringe with each episode.

“Hawaii Five-O” originally ran from September 20, 1968 – April 4, 1980, but my grandparents use to watch the reruns.

Even though they have modernized the series for 2010, I will never-ever get over how horrible the original series was.

      • Best example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AepyGm9Me6w

    • Watching T.V. at your house must be boring as hell.

  9. Hawaii Five-0, was pretty boring for kids.

I remember the opening theme, how the tidalwave would come before every commercial and the famous, “Book em Danno!” line that seemed to end every show.

    • See the link above your post. Hehehe…

    • its still a classic no matter how it gets bashed lol

      • Yup it’s a classic. I used to love watching reruns of it when i was a kid, along with the A Team, Knightrider and Airwolf.

        Airwolf needs a remake!!!

  10. what happened to the cape? I thought that was coming this fall!

  11. Undercovers was a refreshing change in television. To interest me, there has to be a plot in which I cannot tell what is going to happen next. I was mystified. I never knew what when why how or where. It will be sorely missed in the 2011 lineup. Well I guess I have to loo for it on Netflix or a DVD or the series at the store. PS Mini Review. Everything I saw was new to me, expecially the trips to the foreign countries. A couple of color at the top of their game was new and refreshing.
