As david Tennant said in theat same charity one where he met one of the older doctors, and managed to get in a line along the lines of, “You will always be my doctor.”

I take this moment to say so to him.

David Tennant will always be MY doctor. *nods*

On, another note, Matt Smith has intrigued me, but I will be the first to say that he has got some MASSIVE shoes to fill coming in after David Tennant.

I really, really, really love David Tennant, but I’d like to see Matt Smith in action. Plus I loved the last charity one they did with a past Doctor. That was really funny.

This is total bunk. In a phone interview on Wednesday, the tv reporter from the Chicago Tribune asked about David Tennant about this rumour. And, yes, I know that the DW cast and crew are *epic* in their ability to mislead the public… but this is what he said

First in reference to the story at all:
Ooooh, that sounds like a good tabloid wheeze!

Then when described to him in detail:
It’s not something I’ve heard anything about. And I would have thought they’d be in touch. But that’d be quite a curious way to introduce Matt Smith, I’d have thought they’d wait until his first ["Doctor Who"] story. Not anything I’ve heard about yet

And when the the reporter said: Well, one of the stories I read today misspelled TARDIS, so I wasn’t taking it all that seriously.

Tennant answered: So maybe they’re not going from an official press release [laughing].

Just think about it. Why would they show 11 (Matt Smith) when 10 (David Tennant) has 3 more episodes to air after CIN goes out?

I agree with PhantomsPhan, apart from one note… Chris Eccleston didn’t quit for fear of being typecast, that was just a media rumour, he never said any such thing. The regen was supposed to be a surprise but it got leaked after just one episode aired.

While I’m sure there might be a Doctor Who CIN special this year, I doubt this is going to be it. If you go to the original article there is a link in the comments to another rumour The Mirror posted from last year which was basically the same thing (minus the Matt Smith part). Even besides that, #1 I don’t see them spoiling the surprise of what the new Doctor is going to look like before he’s actually supposed to debut, especially for a short throwaway special. #2, considering Christopher Eccleston quit because he didn’t want to be typecast and we have never seen him in any post Doctor Who interviews talking about it (like you see 4-7 interviewed all the time on Doctor Who Confidential), I doubt he would be interested in reprising his role. #3 How do you explain the aging to all of them? It’s one thing to do it for one (like in the Time Crash special with Peter Davison), but all of them? Plus, with age and being out of shape… how ridiculous would some of these actors look in their old costumes? Lastly, there are so many mistakes in the original article, it’s not even funny. One is repeated here even … “The Five Doctors” episode was not a CIN special.
