After a dramatic season 2, TLC has officially confirmed the hit series 1000-Lb. Sisters will return for a third season. Season 2 saw a drastic increase in viewers, and TLC was quick to renew the show. The show has grown in popularity since its premiere in 2020 and a new season was high in demand. The series follows sisters Amy and Tammy Slaton from Kentucky, who gained popularity online while documenting their personal lives.

The Slaton sisters started their weight loss journey together, and they both have faced many ups and downs, some of which have been documented on the TLC show. After her successful weight loss surgery in season 1, Amy became pregnant and gave birth to her son Gage at the end of season 2. She was able to get down to 270 pounds even after giving birth to her son. However, Tammy faced many setbacks with her weight loss. Instead of losing weight to qualify for surgery in season 1, Tammy actually gained weight. She gained weight again in season 2 and got up to 665 lbs.

The 35-year-old also continued to deal with the after-effects of COVID-19 and had to be hospitalized and placed on oxygen. Fans have been following Tammy's journey outside of the show on social media and have been concerned about her health because of her recent activities. Naturally, fans are anxiously waiting to see what's going to happen in the upcoming season.

Before the new season was officially renewed, fans created a petition from change.org demanding the show be renewed for seasons 3 and 4. It currently has over 6,000 signatures.  As of now, season 3 does not have an official premiere date, but Tammy gave the scoop on when it could air. She explained to her fans on her TikTok that it takes a year to film, so there's likely to be a large break between seasons. However, if TLC continues to follow tradition, the new season could air in December 2021 or March 2022. Unfortunately, not much has been said yet, and there's still a lot to learn about the show's filming timeline.

Cast

It's safe to say the same cast will be returning to the show. Tammy and Amy's brother Chris Combs, who joined in season 2, should make a return. Amy's husband Michael Halterman and their son Gage will also continue to be part of the show. Tammy broke up with her boyfriend Jerry Stokes, so it is unlikely he will be returning. However, Tammy has been seen with a new love interest named Phillip. He goes by thebbwking on TikTok. However, according to Metro UK, Tammy broke up with Phillip this summer.

Possible Storylines

Before Phillip and Tammy broke up, they constantly made TikTok videos together. Fans accused Phillip of using Tammy for fame rather than genuinely caring about her. There is a chance Tammy's relationship with Phillip could be featured in the new season, but it is not certain. Fans can also expect to see Amy continue to navigate being a wife and a new mom in season 3.

A lot has happened in the first two seasons of 1000-Lb. Sisters and fans can't get enough of the Slaton sisters. Their hilarious yet kind-hearted personalities and dramatic storylines keep everyone hooked. No matter what setbacks the sisters face, they continue to push through and be devoted to one another. Viewers genuinely care about the sisters and their health and are eager to follow their journey while supporting the series.
