In 10 Minutes Till Dawn, players have 10 minutes to fight an ever-growing horde of monsters, and choosing the right characters is crucial in surviving the onslaught. The player wanders around a dark space as monsters come from all angles, and must use their chosen character and chosen weapon to stay alive until the time is up.

There are a total of four characters currently available in 10 Minutes Till Dawn, and each character has a different appearance and skillset. Players get to pick which character they want to use at the beginning of the game, along with which weapon they want to use. Each character’s unique abilities make them work better with certain weapons and builds. For players who are unfamiliar with the structure of the game, Stardew Valley's Journey of the Prairie King has a similar player vs horde shooting style.

Each character in the game has a special ability and a certain amount of base HP. Players should test out each character to see how their abilities feel and find which character suits their playstyle the most. However, for players who are just starting out and want to know what they’re getting into to help survive the hoard, here’s each character and what they do.

What Every Character Does in 10 Minutes Till Dawn

The first character on the roster is Shana. Shana has 3HP, and can reroll upgrades once per level. With this ability, if players are trying to do a specific build but are missing one final upgrade, this ability can give players a better chance of completing their desired builds successfully. This reroll ability is present in other games as well, such as rerolling enchantments in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. The ability makes Shana great for players who want to test out full builds in combat. Shana works well with any weapon and build, however, works less well with the fire cannon.

The second character is Diamond. Diamond has the exact same ability as Shana, and can reroll upgrades on every level. However, Diamond has 6HP rather than 3. This makes Diamond a great character for players just starting out, as they can test out builds, and have much more leeway in terms of taking damage.

The third character is Scarlett. When using Scarlett, every 3rd shot throws out a wave of fire that burns enemies for 3 damage per second. Because of this ability, Scarlett works best with the Fire Cannon weapon to deal maximum fire damage at a rapid pace. Scarlett has 2HP, making her a bit harder to play, so players are going to want to go for either a shield-based or movement speed-based build early on to prevent taking damage. For players who love customizing weapons in games, The Elder Scrolls Online offers dozens of weapons players can choose and build.

The final character available in the game is Hina. When the player right clicks with Hina, they summon a shadow clone and dash, leaving out the clone behind. The clone does not move and deals the same damage as bullet damage. Because of this ability, Hina works best with summoning perks. She has 2HP, meaning players are going to want to depend on building shielding for her.
