Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trial Locations: Southern Regions

Earning the Merlin's Beard Achievement in Hogwarts Legacy

There are a total of 29 Merlin Trials in the Southern Regions in Hogwarts Legacy.

Remember that activating each trial will require a Mallowsweet, of which the seeds can be purchased from The Magic Neep in Hogsmeade.

All Merlin Trials Solutions In Poidsear Coast

67. Poidsear Coast #1

This is a platforming puzzle. Get on the closest stone pillar and jump to the others. It is okay to backtrack as long as the player does not fall. This is a new region for Hogwarts Legacy, and the puzzle is waiting at the bottom of the waterfall.

68. Poidsear Coast #2

This is a light the cauldrons puzzle. There are three cauldrons on pillars to hit. They are all further down the path than the activation point. One is hidden behind a vine wall to the left walking down the hill. Use Confringo to remove the vines and light the cauldrons.

69. Poidsear Coast #3

This is a moth puzzle. Use Lumos to attract three sets of moths into three cubes. Two can be found very close by. Take the third set down the hill toward the beach to find the third activation point.

70. Poidsear Coast #4

This is a standing stones puzzle. Use Confringo to blast five standing stones around the activation point. All of them can be seen nearby.

71. Poidsear Coast #5

This Hogwarts Legacy puzzle requires the player to move small stones onto platforms. There are three platforms with four depressions for stones in them. There are three sets of five stones nearby. Moving one stone in the set will draw all five stones with it. Move the stones using Wingardium Leviosa onto the platform. All three platforms and stones can be seen close at hand with Revelio.

72. Poidsear Coast #6

This is a moth puzzle. Like before, use Lumos to attract the three sets of moths to their cubes. There is a set of moths trapped in the building. Use Depulso on the wooden fence on the right side of it to get to the moths.

73. Poidsear Coast #7

There is a stone depression puzzle here. The ball is just next to the trial activation point. There are enemies around, so it might be wise to make some of Hogwarts Legacy’s potions first. Take it down on the other side of the building going toward the water. The depression is next to the water with a wooden platform covering it. Use Depulso to remove the wooden platform and use Wingardium Leviosa to move the ball into the depression.

74. Poidsear Coast #8

This is a stone depression puzzle as with the previous one. Use Wingardium Leviosa to move the ball into the depression.

75. Poidsear Coast #9

This is a symbol cube puzzle. Use Flipendo to roll the cubes to match the symbols on the pillars below.

All Merlin Trials Solutions In Marunweem Lake

76. Marunweem Lake #1

This is a moth puzzle. There is a set of moths down below by one of the giant statues, but the rest are on the same level as the activation point. Use one of the most useful spells in Hogwarts Legacy, Lumos, to attract them. It is possible to climb up and get the moths back once the player does.

77. Marunweem Lake #2

This is a platforming puzzle. Jump from stone to stone until all of them have been touched. Use any damage spell to clear obstacles from the top of them.

78. Marunweem Lake #3

This one is a stone depression puzzle. The ball is on top of the platforms within the building. There is a metal gear near the building’s gate. Hit it with Depulso to open the gate, and then use Wingardium Leviosa to take the ball to the stone depression across the bridge.

79. Marunweem Lake #4

This is a symbol cube puzzle. Use Flipendo to roll the cubes on top of the pillars until the symbols match. There are three in total, all of them visible from the activation point.

80. Marunweem Lake #5

The last trial from this location in Hogwarts Legacy is a repair puzzle. Use Reparo to repair all three broken statues. The first two are close to the activation point. The third one is up on the hill above along with two enemies.

All Merlin Trials Solutions In Manor Cape

81. Manor Cape #1

Hogwarts Legacy Southern Regions Merlin 12a

This is a cauldron lighting puzzle. All of them are visible. Hit them with Confringo from tallest to shortest.

82. Manor Cape #2

This one is a stone depression puzzle, but it will require a little patience. The stone depression is uphill from the stone, in such a way as the character cannot run up the hill. Take the stone the long way around using Wingardium Leviosa, until the player is above the depression, which is marked by a red flag. Unfortunately players cannot use spells on a broom in Hogwarts Legacy, so they will have to walk the stone. Drop the ball from the cliff to the cove where the depression is, and then jump down and guide it in the rest of the way.

83. Manor Cape #3

This is a moth puzzle. It is fairly straightforward, except that the last set of moths is behind what appears to be Devil’s Snare. Use Lumos and the roots will retreat, allowing the player to grab the moths and walk back out. Keep the wand lit the whole time.

84. Manor Cape #4

At the very bottom of the map, this is a standing stones puzzle. Be aware, there is a very high-level boss here (Level 35) so do not attempt this trial until confident that it can be beaten and prepare a few Maxima potions. It has the hardest enemies nearby of any Merlin Trial. There are also quite a few minions along with the boss.

85. Manor Cape #5

This one is a symbol cube puzzle. Use Flipendo to make the matches. All of them are nearby, as are a couple of Inferi.

All Merlin Trials Solutions In South Clagmar Coast

86. South Clagmar Coast #1

This is a repair the statues puzzle. All three are sitting on rocks out in the sea. Use Reparo to fix them all.

87. South Clagmar Coast #2

This is a standing stones puzzle. One is easily visible from the activation point. Go through the tunnel to the left from there. There is one on the tunnel and one through the other side. The remaining two are on the top of the cliff above. Use Confringo to destroy the stones.

88. Clagmar Coast #1

These trials are near the southeast corner of the Hogwarts Legacy. This one is a nine-pillar puzzle. There are nine pillars with small orbs on top. Break them using any spell. All nine are clustered together in the field with the scarecrow.

89. Clagmar Coast #2

This is a symbol cube puzzle. Use Flipendo on all three cubes to match the symbols with the pillars. There are two high-level enemies here, so be careful. Two of them are up where the two Poachers are. One of them is also an Animagus.

90. Clagmar Coast #3

This is a moth puzzle. All of the cubes are visible. All of the moths are on the path below surrounding the raised bit that the cubes are on. Use Lumos to lead the moths back to the cubes. Either bring them up by climbing and recalling them that way or use the Depulso spell on the trigger to activate the lift.

All Merlin Trials Solutions In Cragcrofshire

91. Cragcrofshire #1

This is a cauldron lighting puzzle. The tallest one is closest to the trial starting point, and the rest are in a straight line down the path from there. Use Confringo to light them.

92. Cragcroftshire #1

This is a moth puzzle. There are two Poachers here, one is an Animagus. Take them out before trying to complete the trial. The moths and the cubes are surrounding the building. Use Lumos to move the moths to the cubes.

93. Cragcroftshire #2

This is a standing stones puzzles. There are a few enemies here. Take them out and then activate the puzzle. The five stones are located around the ruins. Some of them are set slightly into the walls, so use Revelio to find them if needed. Once found, destroy them with Confringo.

94. Cragcroftshire #3

The second to last of these collectibles in Hogwarts Legacy, this is a nine-pillar puzzle. All nine are visible from the activation point. Break the stones on top using any spell.

95. Cragcroftshire #5

This is a platform puzzle. Jump on the stones in front of the activation point and celebrate finishing all 95 Merlin trials in Hogwarts Legacy!
