Summary
Resident Evil 6 takes the franchise to the world stage, as the stakes are raised to a bio-terrorist attack that threatens every country on Earth. Series regulars Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, and Sherry Berkin, all return as protagonists with a twist - each one of them, has a brand new partner new to the franchise. When a new bioweapon begins to infect residents of an event leading to the death of the U.S. President, the world enters a complete panic as several organizations scramble to find out the culprit and cure the infected before it's too late. The cooperative gameplay returns as players can choose from one of three campaign scenarios initially: Leon and Helena, Sherry and Jake (the supposed son of Albert Wesker), and Chris and Piers. Each scenario plays differently with unique UI elements and gameplay hooks, but the general control scheme remains consistent as an evolution of the last two Resident Evil entries. Herbs are now exchanged for "health tablets," and pistols can now be dual-wielded along with dodge rolls and melee attacks that go beyond what the franchise has used in the past. Resident Evil 6 is available on most modern platforms and was initially released on October 2 2012.
